I'm thinking closer to Warren Jeffs compound in west Texas:

The YFZ Ranch, also known as the Yearning for Zion Ranch,[1] is a 1,700-acre (7 km2) community which housed as many as 700 people just outside of Eldorado in Schleicher County, Texas, United States. It is owned by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS). It is about 45 miles (72 km) southwest of San Angelo and 4 miles (6 km) northeast of Eldorado. The Ranch was settled by members of the FLDS Church who left Hildale, Utah and Colorado City, Arizona under increasing scrutiny from the media, anti-polygamy activists and law enforcement officials.[2]

Agreed, but there are those on the opposite extreme who think it would be liberating, thus good.

Many want to liberate us from the evil government and would welcome a permanent state of default, and the collapse of civil government on every level. But it would only liberate a few millions of their lives and future. Those who work to maintain social relationships, who are not on the sidelines howling for entertainment, don't want default.

That was always my impression of him. No wonder the Kennedy family endorsed him.

I used to tell people that of those in my memory, JFK and Carter and would have been RFK - were the best ones. But I've seen more in Obama than those men, and I'm glad he got his second term. This country needed someone of this caliber for a long, long time. Very grateful to see someone who is able to handle so much.

Humility and patience are not weaknesses, the bravado and coarseness of loud mouths and bullies are dangerous. Obama has excellent and necessary traits for leaership. People who blow up and lash out cannot be trusted with so much responsibility and working with so many conflicting interests.

He is also one of those who work with things as they are, even though we don't like the way this country has changed. He comprehends this without the sloth of believing the status quo always wins, and gets things done without desiring credit or being adored. That is the downfall of shallow men and nations.

Not your fault, but Huffpo is not giving the original date of stories as they update.

I've been caught with these, too. Not all sites are diligent about this, like Media Matters or Raw Story who generally show updates. The stories on HP are being put out as if they are news, but they aren't. I've seen the same thing on cable networks for that matter, and local news.

Items that are months or years old put out with no context. I've found in some cases they are held until a sponsor of some sort wants them released to affect bidding on government conracts. They make something sound like a crisis when it's not.

Yes, he's still out and still living it up and they are all meeting again for mischief.

Also dated 2011. Huffpo has been redating old article, probably automatically. Third post in a week.

Delay has not sentenced again to 3 years. He has been on bail all this time while his case is going through appeal. DeGuerin has filed to have it dismissed and the jurisdiction has been moved from the previous judge. He has not served a day.

He is not in prison, we hashed this story out with people in Texas months ago when Huffpo did this same thing with the story. It's hard to find anything about the case now, but the way Huffpo is presenting these I understand the confusion.

That we keep doing this knee jerk reaction here is sad because we're being made fools of here. Not in prison now, or anytime soon.

Not that he doesn't deserve prison for his staging of the Brooks Brothers riot in 2000 to halt the vote and steal the election for Bush. That is his biggest crime as it was a violation of the CFR on federal employees interfering in elections. And we saw what havoc 8 years of Bush did to the nation and the world.

He also abused DHS authority while in D.C. to bring Texas Democrats back to face what may have been illegal redistricting for the 'permanent Republican majority' he bragged about creating and that Grover Nordquist still counts on. He crossed so many lines and never paid for it.

The Arc of the Universe Is Long But It Bends Towards Justice

Quoted by Barack Obama, attributed to Martin Luther King, Jr., who learned it from the Unitarian minister Theodore Parker:

"...Dr. King once said that the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice. It bends towards justice, but here is the thing: it does not bend on its own. It bends because each of us in our own ways put our hand on that arc and we bend it in the direction of justice...."

Dr. King's words echo those of the 19th-century Unitarian minister Theodore Parker. In his 1853 sermon on "Justice and the Conscience," Parker declared:

"I do not pretend to understand the moral universe; the arc is a long one, my eye reaches but little ways; I cannot calculate the curve and complete the figure by the experience of sight; I can divine it by conscience. And from what I see I am sure it bends towards justice."

The arc of the moral universe is long. When Parker first spoke of the arc of the moral universe bending towards justice 155 years ago, he did so to share a dream of a nation that few then held. When Dr. King echoed these words four decades ago, he did so to comfort and encourage those who were dedicated to making that dream a reality. When Senator Obama used these same words, he did so as a call to action to perfect that nation.

There is cruelty in our history, enough to bring tears to our eyes, at the link. Remember, Inauguration Day this year will fall on the observed date for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, January 21st.
