During WW ll he served as a B-24 radioman-gunner in the same 453rd Bombardment Group as Jimmy Stewart.
He participated in the Battle of the Bulge and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He died in Santa Monica on July 1, 2000 - He was 79.
