Woman drives on railroad tracks because GPS told her to, police say.

http://www.14news.com/2018/11/26/woman-drives-railroad-tracks-because-gps-told-her-police-say/?utm_content=bufferd9965&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer

DUQUESNE, PA (RNN) - A driver in Pennsylvania was cited for careless driving after she told police, who found her on the railroad tracks, that her GPS told her to drive on the tracks.

Officers responded to a call for a vehicle on the railroad tracks Wednesday night, according to a Facebook post by the Duquesne Police Department.

The female driver told officers that her GPS directed her down the tracks. According to the post, the driver was sober and had no medical conditions that would have affected her decision-making.

Officers said in the Facebook comments the vehicle had been going straight on the highway before veering off onto the tracks, which parallel the road.

The woman’s car was towed from the scene, and she was cited for careless driving.

Mueller Offers Cyber Monday Plea Deals (Borowitz)

Mueller Offers Cyber Monday Plea Deals

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Robert Mueller’s announcement that he would be offering Cyber Monday plea deals touched off hysteria among disgraced Trump associates desperate for the chance to score a drastically reduced sentence. Moments after the office of the special counsel went live with its Cyber Monday Web site, Sing4Bob.com, thousands of Trump cronies flooded it with traffic, causing the site to briefly crash.

Harland Dorrinson, the member of Mueller’s team who masterminded the Cyber Monday sale, said that the special counsel was offering a limited number of “prison doorbusters,” with sentences up to seventy-five per cent off. “I’m not surprised that people are going crazy for these bargains,” Dorrinson said. “Otherwise, you could go to trial and face one of those Obama judges.”

He said that Mueller’s Cyber Monday sale was benefitting from a piece of fortuitous timing, since it was being held on the same day that the former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos was scheduled to report to prison for a two-week sentence.

“Everyone who goes on the site is looking for a Papadopoulos special,” he said. “Those were all gone in the first five minutes.”

Milwaukee Students' Answer To 'Nazi Salute' Prom Photo Will Melt Your Heart

Milwaukee Students’ Answer To ‘Nazi Salute’ Prom Photo Will Melt Your Heart

After students in Baraboo, Wisconsin, drew attention to the Badger State by posing for a photo in which nearly all the young men – most of them white – were raising their arms in what appeared to be a Nazi salute, another group of students about 100 miles away decided they would not let that image speak for them.

More than 60 students at Rufus King High School in Milwaukee got together after school earlier this month to create their own photo: a diverse group of young people showing signs of love and peace, OnMilwaukee reported.

The Baraboo photo, which was taken in May before the high school’s junior prom, went viral after being posted on Twitter this month. Last week, Baraboo School Superintendent Lori Mueller announced that the students would not be punished because of their First Amendment rights.

The Rufus King students used their First Amendment rights to respond with their own powerful image.

Antique dealer tracks down homeless man to split profit after he found a valuable Disney painting

A homeless man who stumbled upon a valuable Disney picture in a trash bin was rewarded by the antique dealer who bought the art from him, reported CNN.

Adam Gillian of the Canadian city of Edmonton was originally paid $20 for a picture of Bambi by antique dealer Alexander Archbold. “When I knew it was gonna sell for a lot of money, I knew it wasn’t right to take it all,” Archbold told CNN. Archbold sold the artwork for $3,700.

Archbold went on a search to find Gillian, which was difficult because he had no address. After driving around he was able to get in contact with other homeless people that knew him.

Gillian returned to the store and Archbold gifted him with his half of the profit which was $1,600.35.

New Trevor Noah rule:

If you want a particular group of 'immigrants' to leave, then you immediately have to give up eating their ethnic food.

Want to get rid of Mexicans? No more tacos for you!
Hate Jews? There go your bagels, lox, and the like.
Send Asians back where they came from? No more chop suey, egg rolls, sesame chicken, or sushi.

Want to get rid of ALL 'furriners'? - there go ALL your spices, including pepper, chili powder, oregano, and on and on.

Matt Whitaker Repeatedly Revised Financial Disclosure Forms Following AG Appointment

Matt Whitaker Repeatedly Revised Financial Disclosure Forms Following AG Appointment

WASHINGTON ― Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker has revised his ethics disclosure forms at least five times since President Donald Trump appointed him after former Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ forced resignation.

Financial disclosure forms published Tuesday evening show that Whitaker took in $900,000 in salary from a “charity” organization that took aim at Democrats on ethics grounds as well as $1,750 in legal fees from a dubious, since-shuttered marketing company accused of fraud.

Whitaker also took in more than $100,000 from his law firm as well as $15,000 from CNN, where he briefly served as a legal commentator who opposed special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

It’s unclear what exact information Whitaker omitted when he first filed the form upon his appointment as Sessions’ chief of staff in late 2017. The most recent changes were made the day after the midterm elections as well as on Nov. 8, Nov. 16, Nov. 19 and Nov. 20.

Just the kind of guy tRump wants. No ethics, no morals, constitutionally unable to be ethical or honest.

I hope that Macron and Trudeau both speak only French around Trump,

but drop in the word "Mueller" into their conversation frequently.

Veterans haven't received GI Bill benefits for months due to ongoing IT issues at VA

Veterans haven't received GI Bill benefits for months due to ongoing IT issues at VA

The Department of Veterans Affairs is suffering from a series of information technology glitches that has caused GI Bill benefit payments covering education and housing to be delayed or ... never be delivered.

<snip>

There are many veterans ... across the country who are still waiting for VA to catch up with a backlog created after President Donald Trump signed the Forever GI Bill in 2017. The landmark piece of legislation greatly expanded benefits for veterans and their families, but it did not upgrade the VA's technical capabilities to account for those changes.

While it is unclear how many GI Bill recipients were affected by the delays, as of Nov. 8, more than 82,000 were still waiting for their housing payments with only weeks remaining in the school semester, according to the VA. Hundreds of thousands are believed to have been affected.

<snip>

And advocates are similarly concerned as it remains unclear if the VA will be able to catch up before January, or if it will be inundated with new requests next year and fall even further behind.

At the end of August, Veterans Benefits Administration had nearly 239,000 pending claims — 100,000 more than at the same point in 2017. As school began, thousands of students faced dire circumstances and some faced eviction, getting kicked out of school or taking on loan or credit card debt.

This makes me want to personally grab GOPers and smack the shit out of them. Evidently, "Thank you for your service" ranks right up the with "Our thoughts and prayers go out". These are our VETERANS that we are talking about. The GI Bill PROMISES certain benefits to veterans and because Congress didn't bother to allocate any money to update the programs that send out the checks when they changed the law, thousand of vets who decided to go to college on the GI Bill are facing ending up as homeless, losing their possessions, and being kicked out of college because their checks aren't arriving, with no idea when the checks will start again.

Maybe we need a 'computer glitch' to 'forget' to send Congresscritters their checks.

(Pardon any misspellings or strange construction in my above comments. I am so angry that I am almost shaking. And I'm not even a veteran!)

As a Senate candidate, Whitaker said he could not support 'secular' judicial nominees and that court

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/as-a-senate-candidate-whitaker-said-he-could-not-support-secular-judicial-nominees-and-that-courts-should-be-inferior-branch/2018/11/09/608e23a4-e45c-11e8-8f5f-a55347f48762_story.html?fbclid=IwAR3kLfV2C4Qq63qfH7bOcOt3Mw2ITcTdJGeKV6YDRnVceCUaPT9z5Ns7Lpk&utm_term=.0d084742d32d

Acting Attorney General Matthew G. Whitaker has said that judges should have a “biblical view,” that he could not support nominees who are “secular” and declared that federal courts should be the “inferior branch” of government.

Whitaker’s comments, made during an unsuccessful bid for the U.S. Senate in 2014, have drawn new scrutiny since President Trump named him Wednesday to replace ousted Attorney General Jeff Sessions. In an April 25, 2014, debate, moderator Erick Erickson asked the candidates about their faith. Whitaker said that, if elected, he would want judges who “have a biblical view of justice, which I think is very important …”

Erickson interjected: “Levitical or New Testament?”

“I’m a New Testament,” Whitaker answered, according to an account at the time in the Des Moines Register. “And what I know is as long as they have that world view, that they’ll be a good judge. And if they have a secular world view, where this is all we have here on Earth, then I’m going to be very concerned about that judge.”

We are so screwed.
