UCmeNdc's JournalMaddow: Republicans in ‘complete chaos’ on LGBT rights and women’s issues
Thursday night on The Rachel Maddow Show, host Rachel Maddow struck down the myth that the Democratic and Republican Parties are just slightly different versions of the same thing, particularly when it comes to social issues.
In Virginia, Democrat Terry McAuliffe won the governorship on Tuesday, but he does not officially take office until his swearing in, which will take place in early 2014. He has already made it clear, however, that he intends to strike down one of current Gov. Bob McDonnells executive orders, a law that made it legal to fire public employees in Virginia on the basis of their sexual orientation.

Oops! Lara Logan Apologizes For 60 Minutes Benghazi Report
(CNN) -- CBS correspondent Lara Logan apologized Friday and said the network was "wrong" for a "60 Minutes" report that raised questions about the Obama administration's response to last year's attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. The assault left four Americans dead, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
"In this case, we were wrong. We made a mistake," she said on "CBS This Morning." "That's disappointing for any journalist. It's very disappointing for me."

Maddow: Someone needs to tell the GOP that they lost on Tuesday
Before last night, Maddow said, no party in Virginia had been turfed out of the governorship after only one term in office since 1885.
And yet, in a slew of election postmortems on Wednesday, Republicans were claiming to media outlets that their defeats in Virginia and elsewhere are signs of victory.
There are a lot of things that come up in the news, Maddow said, where you realize that the Republican Party and the conservative movement really is kind of in its own world, that it doesnt have much interaction with the rest of the world.

Shrieking white-hot sphere of pure rage is early GOP front-runner for 2016
A front runner has already emerged in the form of this shrieking white-hot sphere of pure rage
The sphere is testing through the roof with conservatives.
This thing is young, its exciting, it feeds off fear and terror, its no wonder conservatives are raving about it.
Does this rage sphere actually want to run for president?
Well Andrea, it hasnt said no. When interviewed, the howling plasma conservative orb reportedly said a loud whirring sound, some unintelligible shrieks, Bow before me, more piercing violent shrieks, gun, not our America, and then it just repeated faggots at a deafening pitch for hours and hours.

What Is Going On In Wisconsin -- And Why Is It So Secret?
It's a topic so hot in Wisconsin, no one involved with it can talk about it. A wide-ranging investigation, a special prosecutor, and the cloak of secrecy.

No one seems to be investigating and reporting on this. ???
Obamacare "It's a blessing in disguise!"
Dianne Barrette, the 57-year-old Florida realtor who was paying $54 a month for a Blue Cross insurance plan that got cancelled quickly became the poster person for the "Obamacare is taking my insurance away!" campaign after CBS News ran her story, and almost just as quickly became the face of debunked Obamacare stories when Fox News' (!!!) Greta Van Susteren poked it full of holes. It's been a useful story for plenty of journalistsErik Wemple of the Washington Post, and Nancy Metcalf of Consumer Reportsto explore what's really going on with Obamacare, "rate shock," and people losing their junk insurance.
After all that follow-up, The New Republic's Jonathon Cohn did some of his own calculations, exploring the plans that were available in Florida and her likely subsidy qualification. He was limited to the information about Barrette that was publicly available and by the fact that Florida is using the federal site and he couldn't really get on it and dig around. Nonetheless, using what information is available, he found quite a few options for real health insurance that weren't prohibitively expensive. He followed up with Barrette to see what all this new information meant to her, and what she now thinks about Obamacare. In a nutshell, she says, "its a blessing in disguise."

GOP at risk of losing Bill Young’s seat
Republicans are openly worried they could lose a Florida congressional seat that the party has held since before Richard Nixon was president and give Democrats early bragging rights in their long-shot bid to win the House next year.
Republicans have controlled the St. Petersburg-area 13th District for more than four decades until former GOP Rep. Bill Youngs death last month. But the district is very much in play President Barack Obama carried it in 2008 and 2012 and the party believes it has an ideal candidate to capitalize on its moderate strain in former state Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink.

Dem groups gang up on Ken Cuccinelli
The vast left-wing conspiracy has come to Virginia.
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe has drawn a huge collection of allies to his side here, by far overpowering the independent spenders that have lined up on the right for Republican Ken Cuccinelli. And even more impressive than the diverse list of organizations spending on McAuliffes behalf greens, abortion-rights and gun control advocates, unions and more is the military precision with which Democrats have organized their activities in the state.

Notice the tone of this article? The contempt the writer seems to imply toward the Democratic Party because they have the nerve and gall to do what the Republican party has been doing since 2010?
