Now is the best time ...

To start to end all wars, I hope with all my liberal heart we fight for this again.

I fought for peace in the 1970's. Burned draft cards, got drafted with a C.O., fought for peace internally in the military.

War today is even more inhumane, if that is possible.
I see the Vets coming back. I'm in the VA hospital system.
I hear of the vets that don't come back, I see the families.

Let's use this time of Democratic power to STOP THIS SHIT.

Our monies in this country are precious.
We could save much if we only did not pretend to "save the world"
When is the last time a third world nation did that?
Yes, we are a third world nation. Wake up!!

I am a very male 60 year old Veteran of Viet Nam.
I cry every day, bawl, sob uncontrollably, because of the wars we are waging unneedingly.

Wanna save this economy?.. STOP WAR!!!!

Hawks can just, "eat duty and die"
Don't want to hear "That's all we manufacture."
Don't wanna hear, "Oh,That's this country's profit, it's this countries "product"."

Just be quiet. This country has a broken heart.
I have sat next to and hugged, men of honor without limbs.
I have seen and cried with families without a Daddy or Mommy, lost in forgotten wars.

Now is the time.
If not now WHEN?

Or should I just get used to the wailing, the loss, fingers and hands grasping my back in agony,
just to have human compassion, hot humid, ragged breathing on my neck, the wet spots on my shoulders,
the awful taste of the tears and snot, I have when I drive home to my wife?

Come on let us gloat !!

Found this comment on Raw Story in a comment section. I think it sums it all up.

My latest facebook post: "The sadist in my left-leaning soul is really enjoying today. And I'm not going to apologize for feeling that way."

This after listening to those people making posts as sore-losers today bash the President I voted for, twice now, for months. This after I put up with their manipulative passive-aggressive garbage that I don't care for them if I cast my vote for Obama. That I'll help usher in the destruction of the U.S. and make baby Jesus cry.

It wasn't the Dems that tried to steal the election through fraud, manipulation and suppression. It wasn't the Dems selectively citing the polls. It wasn't the Dems making public statements about how women should feel blessed if a man forces his penis inside her, then the govt. forces the baby out 9 months later. It wasn't the Dems referring to large portions of this country as "you people" and dismissing women and non-white people as lazy, slutty, do-nothing takers. It wasn't the Dems encouraging kids to borrow money from their parents and get themselves into heaps of debt for the chance to better their lives, even while college grads were having really hard times finding worthwhile work. It wasn't Dems calling for more war and pushing tax-payer dollars on a military that already knows it's pretty bloated. It wasn't Dems calling for de-regulation on any industry they can find without regard for the lessons we should have recently learned or the impact such decisions will have. It wasn't the Dems who categorically dismissed the facts because they inconveniently contradicted their opinions. And most importantly, it wasn't the Dems who made a pact on day one to obstruct everything the Dems and President Obama supported for the sole purpose of making the POTUS a single-termer.

I kind of want to twist that metaphorical knife they stuck in their own backs. The country is slowly moving left, progress always finds a way. They'll either adapt or be miserable.

Monsanto's Ge Sweet corn to hit the shelves.

I called my local (Novi, Michigan) Walmart and Sam's Club to see if they knew where their corn came from.
The Walmart store when asked just hung up on me! The Sam's Club, of which I am a business member, sounded confused
and very evasive. I asked if it would be their policy to label the Genetically modified product as such, they responded,
"Really don't think so". I did find out that even though they market the produce as "local" it is from Florida. No disrespect to Florida.

Just don't buy this product, consumer demand, or lack thereof, will prevail. Send a message with your dollars. It's all we have left!!

"Like it or not, Monsanto’s genetically modified sweet corn will soon be arriving on grocery store shelves of the world’s largest retailer, Walmart Stores, Inc., and will not be labeled as such. Despite an onslaught of consumer pressure, the company confirmed late last week with the Chicago Tribune that it has no objection to selling the new crop of Monsanto’s genetically modified (GE) sweet corn.

Other retailers, including the grocery chains Safeway and Kroger, have not responded on the issue, however Whole Foods, Trader Joes and General Mills have all vowed to not carry or use the GE sweet corn. As the country’s largest grocery retailer, Walmart sells $129 billion worth of food a year, giving it unmatched power in shaping the food supply chain.

The GE sweet corn is the first consumer product developed by Monsanto that will go straight from the farm to the consumer’s plate, rather than first being processed into animal feed, sugars, oils, fibers and other ingredients found in a wide variety of conventional food. It is engineered to be resistant to Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide, the active ingredient of which is glyphosate. The product is also designed to produce a Bt toxin that will kill insects that feed on the plant. Monsanto’s new sweet corn is being harvested in the Midwest, Northwest, Southeast and Texas.

“After closely looking at both sides of the debate and collaborating with a number of respected food safety experts, we see no scientifically validated safety reasons to implement restrictions on this product,” Walmart officials told the Tribune."

A Savage Beast

There is a savage beast in every man, when you hand a man a sword
or a spear and send him into war, the beast stirs.

The scent of blood is all it takes to wake him.

But what of the cheap battle before us?
The battles where no blood or entrails are spilt?

The feasts, the spoils, the merriment, laughter that abounds, the battle
is lost or won in that arena, not in the meadows, forests, the icy plains.
We cannot fight those battles, we have no weapons.
The highborn rule, it is their battle, their war, our lives.

Songs of bravery and valor of others is what we sing. Repeated chants not of our own.
Songs of banners and flags of a house we chose to align, as dogs on a short leash.
Obedient but not wise, we are. Singing songs not our own kind, but of them.
Oh, and we sing loud, brash and low believing the words, chastising the curious,
banishing the others. Slaves to the word.

The beast yearns to be free. Yet we understand not freedom or honor; the taste, the smell of the
copper of blood, knowing not what it means to spill it ... yet.

Yet our honor deserves that knowledge, that freedom.

Are we cowards? Are we the weak? Are we the craven among men of valor and courage?

Break free and speak you peasants.

This is not what of are we made.
We are created of rock, of the earth, of the indestructible foundation of life.

This is not what we deserve, fight for our rights, our destiny, our future.

This existence is theirs, not ours. Fight to change!
Break free now or remain in the dregs of their humanity.

Fight against the being that offends all of the ones that rule.
