TRENDLINE QUESTION ON ISRAELI SETTLEMENTS 2014-2018: One of the issues of tension between the United States and Israel has been its construction of Israeli settlements in the territories occupied by Israel in the 1967 war. These settlements are considered illegal by most of the international community and have been opposed by every U.S. administration, both Republican and Democratic. The Israeli government has continued to build settlements arguing that they have the right to do so, or that these are not obstacles to peace. How do you believe the U.S. should react to new settlements?

Please. The Israelis liberated the West Bank and Gaza in 1967 from the illegal occupiers, Jordan and Egypt, who violated the partition agreement in 1947 and started a war so they could steal land to expand the area under Islamic control. This was their first attempt at genocide of the Jews of Israel, which failed horribly. During the illegal occupation (1948-1967) Jewish holy site were destroyed and defaced, synagogues and Jewish cemeteries were destroyed and Jews were forbidden from access to holy sites. This ended in 1967, after the second attempt of genocide failed, when Israel took control of the area and ensured everyone's rights would be respected.
This mythical "international community" has no legal authority, many international law specialists consider the area "disputed territory". The Arabs rejected partition, so it's a complete stretch to claim that it's Palestinian land, they LITERALLY rejected that formulation in 1947.

'She was a giant': Education leader Carolyn Warner dies at 88
Carolyn Warner, an education leader and advocate who nearly became Arizona's first female governor, died of cancer Tuesday.
She was 88.
"Arizona has lost an icon," Phoenix Mayor Thelda Williams said in a statement Wednesday. "A trailblazer in her own right — Carolyn Warner leaves a legacy of tireless dedication and advocacy for public education that will always be remembered."
The chairwoman and founder of Corporate Education Consulting began her political career nearly 50 years ago as a Phoenix Union High School District board member. The mother of six said she was approached to run after moving to Phoenix from Oklahoma in 1953.
"We had a family meeting, and the kids said, 'Go for it,'" Warner said on Arizona PBS earlier this year.
She became the first non-educator elected as state superintendent of public instruction, a post she held for 12 years. She ran for U.S. Senate in 1976 but lost the Democratic primary.
A decade later, Warner became the second woman in Arizona history to win her party's nomination in the governor's race, only to lose in the general election to Republican Evan Mecham.
Warner later said she believed part of the reason she lost was because the state was not ready for a woman to lead.

I knew the Suns would be on this list
Like the article said, the Suns have been to the playoffs a lot, in fact statistically they were one of the winningest teams in the 80s and 90s but could never get past other teams like the spurs and Lakers. They also got screwed several times like in 76 and 07 (Robert Horry should burn in hell). In the 1993 finals, game 6, Danny Ainge decided to roam around on defense and left John Paxson open. With 4 seconds left in the game he drained a three, game/series over. I will never forgive him for that.
The suns have a good team this year, but just like the last couple years the problem isn't offense, it's how many points they give up to the other team.
New artsy shopping center The Churchill provides students new options
Three blocks north of Taylor Place in downtown Phoenix is a new shopping center built entirely out of recycled shipping containers which offers a relaxing hang-out spot for students.
This new shopping center is The Churchill and opened during the end of August 2018. Located at First and Garfield streets, the space brings a variety of new local retailers and restaurants to the area.
Julie Oberholtzer owns a business in The Churchill called Cosas, a boutique that sells authentic Mexican gifts, like home goods, jewelry and kitchen items.
“My family and I lived in Guadalajara, Mexico for four years and just fell in love with everything about the country of Mexico (such as) the textures, the culture, the food (and) the people,” she said.
The Churchill also has other restaurants such as Freak Brothers Pizza and Breadwinner and bars like Pobrecito and Brill Line. Also located in the space are retailers such as State Forty-Eight and Sauvage Bottle Shop.
Julie's husband, Ryan Oberholtzer, owns a Mexican restaurant called Provecho in The Churchill. She said they have been dedicated to this project since the start and were excited to join having seen similar successful shipping container businesses in Mexico.
“Especially for (an) ASU campus, it gives the students and faculty a place to come congregate, a place to come hang out to study, to drink coffee (and) to eat,” Oberholtzer said.

Kobe Bryant's $6M investment in sports drink now worth $200M
An investment made by Kobe Bryant has yielded more than 30 times its money in fewer than four and a half years.
On Tuesday, Coca-Cola announced it had purchased a minority stake in sports drink BodyArmor.
Bryant made his first investment in the brand, for roughly 10 percent of the company, in March 2014, putting in roughly $6 million over time. Based on the valuation of the Coca-Cola deal, his stake is now worth approximately $200 million, sources told ESPN.
Bryant is now the fourth-largest investor in the brand, marketed as a healthier competitor to Gatorade, behind the brand's co-founder Mike Repole, Coca-Cola and Keurig Dr Pepper. When Bryant invested in BodyArmor, the brand had just come off a year of $10 million in sales. BodyArmor is projected to top $400 million in sales in 2018.
