When the 2nd Amendment is used to infringe upon the 1st Amendment

Two Muslim congressman asked Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Thursday to launch an investigation into an armed anti-Muslim rally that took place recently outside a Phoenix mosque.

Reps. Keith Ellison (D-MN) and Andre Carson (D-IN) asked the Justice Department to determine whether those worshipping at the mosque had their First Amendment rights violated by the protest on May 29.

“The decision to bring assault weapons to the mosque demonstrates intent to create a hostile environment to intimidate worshipers, a clear attempt to infringe on the First Amendment rights of the worshipers,” said the letter, which was published by the Huffington Post.

Ellison and Carson wrote the armed protests may have violated the Freedom of Access To Clinic Entrances Act, which, they said, prohibits “attempts to injure, intimidate or interfere with any person lawfully exercising or seeking to exercise the First Amendment right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship."

Jill & Jessa: Josh Duggar was 'a young boy in puberty and a little too curious about girls'

Josh Duggar’s sisters say they felt compelled to speak out and “set the record straight” after it was revealed that the 19 Kids & Counting star had molested them when he was a teen.

“As we’ve been seeing things that people are saying about our family, we feel like, as victims, we have to come out and speak,” Jill Duggar Dillard, Josh’s 24-year-old sister, told Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly in an interview that aired Friday. “This is something we chose to do. Nobody asked us to do this. Jessa and I were talking, we’re like, ‘Oh my goodness, most of the stuff out there is lies. It’s not truth.’ For truth sake, we want to come out and set the record straight.”

Allegations that Josh had fondled five underage girls – including four of his sisters – were made public last month, and the 27-year-old quickly apologized for his “wrongdoing.”

“Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends,” Josh, now 27, said in a statement. “I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life.”

Commuting in the Bay Area is becoming Hell.

Back in 2012 when I and millions of my closest friends were out of work, I would take our son to school on the light rail system, drop him off and hop back to go home. We live in the Downtown area so I shared the train with commuters, but I could always find a seat, or at least space to stand. I've been back to work for a couple years now and so is everyone else. Last month when I had the day off, I took him to school and had to squeeze my way into the mass of humanity. And a typical day on BART (my daily transportation choice), looks very much like the news footage from Japanese trains. I'm so thankful I reverse-commute into the City and spared the worst of it. How is it for the rest of the Bay Ares DUers out there>

Bristol Palin Falls For Caitlyn Jenner ESPN Hoax: 'Isn’t That Crazy!!!'

The daughter of former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was among the legions of conservatives who fell for a hoax on Wednesday involving Caitlyn Jenner and a double-amputee Iraq War veteran who served in the Army.

The hoax, which was quickly debunked by the sports network ESPN, said that Army vet and athlete Noah Galloway had been the runner-up for the network's "courage" award to Jenner, a former Olympian who recently made a splash for coming out as a transgender woman.....

Isn’t that crazy!!! I hate how everything in this liberal world is, “Oh equality for all, but not if you don’t agree with us!”

I hate, for example, how Tim Tebow is SOOO mocked for being a Christian!!!! If anyone says they don’t believe in gay marriage, they’re cursed. Here’s the thing. Caitliyn Jenner looks great! I don’t care what people do… honestly I have gay friends, but it drives me crazy that people like Noah don’t get recognized for sacrificing their LIFE for our country, while being gay/transgender makes you a hero.

But shouldn’t we let everyone have their own opinions? Without restrictions on them?

We have way too many hypocrites.

Duggar family says real crime is release of molestation records

he story of improper touching by reality TV star Josh Duggar is also a story about the improper release of juvenile records, Josh's parents Michelle and Jim Bob said in an interview aired by Fox News on Wednesday.

The Duggars' anger over the release of the records helps to explain why they decided to grant an interview at all.

The family stars in the TLC series "19 Kids and Counting," which remains in limbo while Josh Duggar's past acts of molestation remain national news.

But the family seems to be going on the offensive after two weeks of what the parents called an "unprecedented attack" against them.

Sarah Palin Says Media Ignored ‘Pedophile’ Lena Dunham While Shaming Duggars

Bristol and Sarah Palin lashed out at the media Thursday for its response to the scandal surrounding reality TV star Josh Duggar, comparing his family’s treatment with that of Lena Dunham after passages in her memoir were labeled evidence of child abuse.

In separate posts, Bristol and Sarah Palin blast the “liberal media” for reacting with furor over news that Duggar had inappropriately touched his younger sisters, some of whom were sleeping, while downplaying passages from Lena Dunham’s recently published memoir in which she describes looking at her sister’s vagina and bribing her for kisses as a child.

TLC has pulled episodes of the Duggar family’s hit show amid the scandal and Josh stepped down from his position at the Family Research Council. Dunham released a statement apologizing for triggering painful responses by including the offending passages in the memoir.

But both Palins believe the media response has been uneven. “I can’t believe how crazy the media is going over the Duggar family compared to the big fat yawn they gave Lena Dunham when she wrote in her book that she sexually experimented with her sister,” Bristol Palin wrote in a blog post. “The double standards make me sick.”

Pat Robertson: Schools with interracial dating bans deserve tax-exempt status.

Conservative TV preacher Pat Robertson said this week that the Internal Revenue Service had been wrong to strip the tax-exempt status from Bob Jones University after finding a ban on interracial dating to be discriminatory.

A 700 Club report warned on Thursday that the U.S. government could strip religious schools of federal benefits if the Supreme Court ruled that bans on same-sex marriage were unconstitutional.

During recent oral arguments, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia had asked Solicitor General Donald Verrilli Jr. if legalizing same-sex marriage might impact Christian schools the way that Bob Jones University had lost its tax-exempt status in 1983 over racial policies, including an interracial dating ban.

Although the school dropped the ban in 2000, it had argued that it was based on the Bible and that there was a reason God had created people differently.

“If someone sees one, everyone tends to know about it,” said Chad Nordstrom, a research biologist with the Aquarium.

The pod, which consists of two adults and two juveniles, belongs to B.C.’s transient population. Transients prey on marine mammals, and the group was likely feasting in Burrard Inlet when they were spotted, Nordstrom said.

“They regularly spend a lot of time right close to shore in coastal areas, and our best guess is that they’re hunting harbour seals,” he said.

Transient orcas, sometimes called Bigg’s killer whales, also feed on seals, dolphins, porpoises, and sea lions. Amazing footage captured in Alaska last year showed a pod hunting a sea lion and tossing it metres into the air.

“These are the whales you would see with some of those more acrobatic-type behaviours when chasing prey,” Nordstrom said.

Arkansas pastor says Caitlyn Jenner is defying God but Josh Duggar can be forgiven

The conservative pastor who claimed God can forgive Josh Duggar amid his molestation scandal said during a fire-and-brimstone sermon that Caitlyn Jenner is defying the way God made her.

Ronnie Floyd, the Duggar family’s pastor who heads the Pinnacle Cross Church in Arkansas, said Jenner was a sinner and should no longer be considered an American hero.

God made two genders, and “there’s no fluidity to that,” he said.

But hours after the scathing homily, he told People that Josh Duggar, who is accused of molesting at least five underage girls when he was a teenager, can be forgiven for his wrongdoing.
