momta's JournalPledging allegiance...
I heard this on the radio, and came home and found it on line. This is a "thing" in our household because from a very young age our daughter rebelled against saying the pledge, because she "didn't even know what all the words meant". We supported her, and fortunately her school didn't push back. Just a few side-eyes from teachers and other students.
Anyway, this bit is funny.
I wonder what Tucker would tell people to do if he saw someone whose kid had...
a gun?
Asking for a friend.
I hesitated to post about this, but...
When Rachel posted her story, it really hit home.
My husband, who is ten years older than me, got both of his shots before I was eligible to make an appointment. He commented on being surprised at what a relief it was to finally get vaccinated. And I was relieved for him.
When I finally became eligible I tried and tried to find an appointment. It was frustrating. There was nothing anywhere. Finally, about two weeks after "eligibility" my husband had me try the website at about midnight. Just on a hunch or something. Turns out they had JUST opened up a bunch of times, and I was able to book a shot for the next day. I knew I would be relieved, but...
I cried. I couldn't help it. The relief just washed over me, and the emotion was strong.
That was about ten days ago. Ten more, and I get my next one. No more tears, just happiness.
For all of you who are waiting, and frustrated--know that we are with you. We're still masking up, still encouraging everyone, and still hopeful that everyone can and will get vaccinated soon. I know it's frustrating. But it's worth the wait.
Next up...getting my two grown kids appointments. They just became eligible, and have been checking for times. Hopefully...soon.
Here's my idea for giving water to people in Georgia voting lines.
Get a big wagon full of water, and go park it next to the line of people. Then place a sign on it that says
"THIS WATER IS NOT TO BE TAKEN BY ANY THIRSTY PERSON WHO HAS TO STAND IN THIS LINE FOR HOURS AND HOURS! AND YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED TO PASS THIS WATER UP AND DOWN THE LINE TO PEOPLE WHO ARE THIRSTY!"
And then leave.
My favorite response to Redfield.
Potholer54 is one of my favorite Youtubers. He put this one out last year. Maybe Redfield should watch it.
I made this video about Rhode Island's name change.
I might make others to go along with my book.
(Cross-posting from Video & Multimedia)
Rhode Island changed its name. Can it do that?
I finally bit the bullet and started making videos to go along with my book. This is my first one.
I have friends who live in that neighborhood.
I have shopped at that grocery store...with my kids.
The Daily Camera is now reporting that six people were killed, but the Boulder police (I'm swallowing some rage right now because they lost one of their own) aren't saying.
Right now I'm pissed at the world. This shit doesn't have to happen.
Oh. And Lauren Boebert can go fuck herself.
