The transgender bathroom bill in South Carolina is probably dead.

It couldn't even make it out of committee.
This occurred because of several factors. The business backlash witnessed in several states gave many people pause.

In addition, the state senator who introduced it has the IQ of a turnip and is disliked by many even in his own party. He is in a heated primary race and this was seen as a blatant attempt to pander for support. Why that is suddenly wrong I have no idea. It is an art form perfected by the GOP.

Nikki Haley would probably veto it but not because she has one ounce of empathy for LGBTs. Please don't give her credit. She wants a higher office and she carefully weighs which direction the wind is blowing. If she thought supporting it would further her aspirations, she'd push for it with all her might.

So we watch in wonder as SC seemingly does something more progressive than NC. The GOP here has too many factions and they all hate each other. Without that enmity, we would probably lead the race to the bottom.

The outside of my apartment caught on fire. My neighbors alerted me and used the fire extinguisher. I caught Tater and Moonpie and got them in carriers. I am airing out the apartment.
It turns out one of the idiots who lives here flicks his cigarette butts out and one smouldered and caught fire. They found a pile of them. The siding and mulch was burnt.
At least it wasn't that bad and they know what caused it.

I don't even know what Lee Bright is upset about. The bathrooms in his district have been gender neutral for years.
