I went to look at kittehs.

I met two sweet kittehs who were pals and I sat down to fill out the paperwork. Then I just started crying and I couldn't stop. I apologized to the people there and left. I will send them a donation.
I couldn't apologize to the kittehs. I couldn't keep going. I just collapsed in some way.

Scat keeps hunting for Mousie every night. I wake up to her special cry. I get up and go hold her and we walk around the apartment. It seems to settle her down.
I know I did the right thing for Mousie but the what ifs are after me.
I'll just have to keep going.
Sorry for all the downer posts. I've lost pets before but this was especially hard.

A winter story- The Washington Nationals baseball team began their pre-season in Florida. One of the players had a kid who was at that age when they were starting to talk and comment on what
they see.

DC has been in that area where winter has been day after day. When the little girl got to FL she looked at her parents and said, "We can go outside?"

Thanks to all of you who have helped me in some way after Mousie.

Your words and thoughts travel through these funny old interwebs and help a lot. The brave new digital world is not as cold as some would have us believe.

The kindness of 'strangers' keeps the Earth on its axis IMO.

I will get through this somehow. The only way out is forward so I have to keep moving. The sharp pain will turn into an ache of melancholy. When that occurs, I will be able to handle the memories of Mousie. Right now the edges are too cutting.

For all of this, I wouldn't have missed any moment.

Quiet.....

One of the first things I have noticed is how quiet my apartment is without Mousie. I was befuddled when I first realized this. Mousie didn't make much noise and yowl around at the top of her lungs.

I wondered if it was simply psychological. There was one less presence so maybe it seemed emptier and quieter. I wasn't sure.

Then it hit me. I talked to Mousie all the time. She responded in different ways. Scat is deaf and while I still talk to her, it's minimal.

Mousie was a good listener.

Sigh.....

A Georgia man says he couldn’t possibly have raped a woman at a CVS store. He’s just so good looking.

That’s Darrious Mathis’ defense in the second trial of a kidnapping, robbery and rape case out of Cobb County, according to Atlanta’s WSB-TV. Mathis used the same defense in September 2013 trial that resulted in a hung jury.

The 24-year-old victim says two and a half years earlier, she was making a quick midnight stop at an Austell CVS store when Mathis kidnapped her at gunpoint and raped her.

“He had told me to get in the car and I actually begged him to take my car. I had pushed my wallet that was in my hand and my keys toward him and I was like ‘Please take my car. You can take my cards and everything,” she said.

Mathis says the above did not happen. He says he was at the CVS, selling pain medication in the parking lot when the victim approached him to buy some pills.

Any sex following was consensual because of his charming personality and handsome features, according to his defense team.Mathis is also facing additional weapons and assault charges.

It's disturbing to think of the cruelty being done. However, it's heartening to know there are people who will track evil to the ends of the earth.

It’s too bad pride is a sin because Sister Cristina Scuccia should be full of it.

The nun from Sicily auditioned for the show Wednesday night and her cover of Alicia Keys’ ‘No One’ got the holy four-chair turn around.

Best part of it all? The 25-year old sista chose to join Italian rapper J-Ax’s team. GIRL, PREACH.
