Rethugs have solution for fairer debates - let US pick the moderators

In the wake of the CNBC Republican presidential debate, conservative media are calling for even more influence in the debate process. Conservatives have suggested upcoming debates should be moderated by right-wing pundits like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Mark Levin, Ben Shapiro, and Erick Erickson.

Rubio - a man of firm convictions

Rubio has shown himself to be exceptionally able to adjust his core beliefs to the circumstances of the moment. Perhaps no more telling example of this is Rubio's stated religion.

By my count he has undergone at least four, if not five, changes in his core religious beliefs. "Marco Rubio, who wants to be President, has been a Catholic, a Mormon, a Catholic again, then a fundamentalist Christian church member and a Catholic Church member."

"As a child in Miami, he was a Roman Catholic. When his family moved to Las Vegas, he became a Mormon. When the family moved back to Florida he became a Catholic again."

"And then, in 2000, he began attending Christ Fellowship in Miami, a fundamentalist mega church that is rigidly opposed to homosexuality and asks employees to sign a declaration saying they've never been in a gay relationship. In another (now locked) thread I had made the comment

that, at the turn of the century Jerusalem had more Jews than Muslims, to which the ever-genteel poster responded with a sophisticated argument - "Bullshit".

In the interests of accuracy on this point, here are some interesting population figures for Jerusalem. It's a little hard to read since he column formatting got somewhat shifted when I did a cut and paste. Nonetheless the accuracy of my original statement is clearly evident:

up the airways but one thing has me amazed - where is Newt Gingrich? It seems that, in the past the man who is 'what stupid people think intelligent people sound like' was all over the place, 24/7. Now, not a word (at least that I'm aware of) from old 'Let's shut the gumbint down' Newtie. Does somebody have something on him? Inquiring mind want to know...

area has found a solution to the Confederate Battle Flag controversy - (s)he has just put up a spanking brand-new 'Stars and Bars' - the original Confederate States Flag instead. I guess (s)he thinks that's making progress.

Univision reporting with film clips of Caracas Mayor Ledesma being taken out of his office by soldiers of the Venezuelan National Guard. Reporting that this is being done without Judicial Order. No charges have been made public. More as this develops.
