I have been trying the latest version (10074) and did a clean install on one of my 120GB SSD. I did not like it too much. Was way too different from my beloved Win 7 Pro. I have not used 8 or 8.1.
Then I cloned my Win 7 Pro install to another 120GB SSD, and did an in-place upgrade install on the clone drive. Frankly I did not expect it work given the number of programs I have running. It took about 2 hours with multiple restarts, but it finally came back up, and I was very impressed.
I only had a few programs that did not work. Perfect Disk Defragger was the main one. Had 2 updates that refused to go though. One for an Asus motherboard driver and one for the latest Nvidia WHQL driver (running a GTX970). I used it all weekend long this past weekend, including multiple visits to DU, and had no OS crashes. Firefox crashed multiple times.
I was hesitant beforehand, thinking I might stay with Win 7. Now, I'm looking forward to Windows 10.

I am 58 years old, and I never thought I would see the normalization of relations with Cuba in my lifetime unless Castro died and there was another revolution. I have vague memories of the Cuban Missile Crisis. I witnessed decades of anger, bitterness, hate and some very harsh rhetoric on both sides. Father & Son MechWarrior Halloween 2014
Terrific costume. Father builds a costume out of cardboard and PVC pipe. Little son rides upfront.
My husband had this costume planned for several years, long before we had a child. The inspiration was a computer game he played in high school. When we found out we were having a baby, he got to work. Ryan sketched out the rough designs probably two months before Geraint was born. With so much baby stuff coming in the mail, we had plenty of boxes for him to work with, so he just had to buy a few things to make it. Ryan built a frame for the body out of PVC and wrapped a cardboard shell around it and secured it to the frame with zip ties. He then cut and sculpted the other pieces out of cardboard, with some foam board details to add a true 3D effect. The joints are all fastened with Velcro cable wraps, and the head and other pieces attach to the main body with Velcro tape. The legs are supported by a belt, which is hidden under the body. His arms slip into the gun pods and he has more Velcro straps on the inside in order to hold them. The feet just fit over his shoes by gluing toilet paper tubes on the inside to take up the extra space. He did a wonderful job and I am so proud of him. It looks amazing and Geraint loves it! How many "30 day vacations" before a PPR occurs?
Do you have a hard and fast rule on this? Or is it as case by case basis?
If you do not have a policy on this, I recommend you implement one, and publicize it.

Mozilla Co-Founder Brendan Eich Resigns as CEO, Leaves Foundation Board

“Mozilla prides itself on being held to a different standard and, this past week, we didn’t live up to it. We know why people are hurt and angry, and they are right: it’s because we haven’t stayed true to ourselves,” read the post, in part. “We didn’t act like you’d expect Mozilla to act. We didn’t move fast enough to engage with people once the controversy started. We’re sorry. We must do better.”
In several interviews this week, Eich had insisted that he would not step down from the job he was only recently appointed to, due to the intense backlash over a $1,000 donation he made in 2008 in support of the ballot measure to ban gay marriage.

How Safe Is Airline Water? Bring Your Own Bottle!
http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB1036110025940498271The good news, of course, is that this water isn't the main drinking supply for passengers, who usually get bottled H2O from the beverage carts. But plenty of people depend on the plane's taps to wash their hands and brush their teeth. And while the airlines say they rarely serve tap water, many flight attendants say it isn't that uncommon: When the bottled water runs out, they turn to the tanks -- which, under federal regulations, are supposed to provide drinkable water. "It's the way our service works," says Sara Dela Cruz, a spokeswoman for the union of United Airlines attendants.
For their part, the airlines say they closely follow federal guidelines for drinking water, and say no passengers have ever complained about getting sick from it. "It's absolutely drinkable," says a United spokesman. They called our water tests unscientific, and said our own samplers could have contaminated the results. "Someone with dirty hands must have used that sink," said a spokesman from National Airlines, where the lavatory sample came back positive for coliform.
But our experts said human contamination wouldn't explain all our results. Some of the water we collected on a short flight to St. Louis, for example, contained Pasteurella pneumotropica, a bacterium primarily carried by rodents. Similarly, our Chicago-to-Los Angeles trip turned up Pseudomonas, a highly resistant bacterium associated with a range of infections. And while the U.S. government sets a maximum bacterial level of 500 "colony-forming units" per milliliter for municipal drinking water, our lab counted more than four million per milliliter in a single sample alone. That's roughly the same bacterial concentration you find in a tainted raw hamburger, Dr. Hendrickson says.
If this is your way of apologizing for calling the President
The vile name you did, I for one, am not accepting the apology. You're are going to have to do a lot better than that.
I expect vile name calling from Republicans. I don't expect it from a supposed Democrat, on a board that explicit supports the the United States Democratic Party.
I don't worship at the church of Will Pitt, either. You're lucky I'm not an Admin. If I were, I'd have PPR'd you in a second, and you would never be allowed back.
