Asking again a month later.. When the primary is over will you

Empty your ignore list?
Can you see youself making common ground with those.who have said so many horrific things about your candidate and laughed while.doing so?
Can you find common ground with those who have continually acted against your candidate in malicious ways? With those who have shown their beliefs to be in diametric opposition to yours?

Note to jury..no candidates are named in the above.

If primaries are only for club members

Why in the hell.are my taxes paying for your exercise in political eclusion?
If they are only for members of the club then your club needs to.foot its own bills.
I dont want my taxes supporting your private club any more than i want to pay for the country club cotillian.

state by state speak your mind about oregon

beautiful Oregon
beaches forests mountains and deserts
lakes in craters ....wow!
15000 years of people and its still habitable!
first the natives then the Spanish then the French
then the US ala lewis and clark
in 1811 the English sailed the entire Columbia river and claimed it as theirs all the way to the snake river
nice piece of land
they cemented the deal after the war of 1812 but by 1820 we had joint occupancy from the rockies to the pacific
the brits moved settlers in to advance their position and the Oregon trail was opened 2 years later leading to a huge US migration
war was narrowly avoided
Oregon was a "whites only " territory in its first constitution
geographical Oregon is stunning with as said above every type of landscape
Oregon's liberals are the most liberal and its conservatives the most conservative
hazelnuts are from there and wines as the land copies the Alsace and burgundy regions of france
cranberries wheat cattle sheep dairy eggs and poultry are big crops
forests give jobs to timber trades and the long coast and rivers gives work to fisherman
and of course a place with so many kinds of beauty has a lot of tourism
electronics is becoming a large factor coining the name "silicon forest" and many major corporations call Oregon home
Oregon is on my will go to list

state by state speak your mind about oklahoma

this is another state I have yet to visit
the name is from native meaning red peoples land
major oil and gas producer
lots of cattle there
humans have lived there since the ice age
as an eastern band member it saddens me that many of my relations were forced there
its called the sooner state because of the people who basically cheated during the land rush
Oklahoma is home to one of the most egregious instances of race war in American history
an act so damaging that AA oklahomans are still affected by it today and which at the time destroyed one of black Americas proudest populations,a group that was so successful the term black wall street was invented to describe it
Oklahoma today has interests in communications, food production ,aviation and electronics to name but a few
Oklahoma is a leader in wind generated power
#5 in cattle and wheat production
6 governments have claimed Oklahoma in its history and 67 tribal bands call it home
Scottish, Irish, German, Italian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Czech, Jewish, Arab, Mexican and African-Americans all call Oklahoma home
ok okies its on you now...tell us why you love/hate oklahoma

7th most populated state
ohio has a very varied geography with many river including the Cuyahoga river which has ignited in my lifetime
the natives go back to 13000 bc

then the French and indian wars came and ohio was ceded to the brits
1803 and ohio becomes a state and during the civil war its rivers act as supply routes
grant Sherman and Sheridan were all ohioans
ohio is home to business and manufacturing and is a leader in green technology
59 of the top 1000 companies is headquarted in ohio
even presidents were from ohio
ohio has 13 state universities

state by state speak your mind about...north dakota

i did not believe in north dakota until about 10 years ago
i thought it was a fantasy to even out the flag or something
i live in the touristy part of florida and we see every tag from every state
never seen a north dakota tag
but my dad went to work there and he says its really a place so i have no choice but to believe him
food processing and farming are the high priority jobs
when they admitted the dakotas as states they intentionally shuffled the papers so as to not know which was admitted first
dakota rivalry
we have the native people, scandanavians germans
there are no real tourist attractions there
i hope someone on du can confirm the existence of north dakota

state by state speak your mind about...new york

awww new york the big apple
well the big apple is in new york
a state with serious duality a large populous state with americas most populated city within
when you say new york you usually mean the city but it really is so much more
lets start with the city though.one of americas oldest and most definitive places and histories
bought for a robbers pittance by the dutch from natives
the natives selling rights to land of their neighbors
how much more USA does this story get? the imprint of new york city is all over this world
madison avenue homogenized us starting in the 50's and the big 3 networks finished the job via hollywood outsourcing
wall street can cripple a government half a world away over a bad sandwich at lunch
and we would be naked without new yorks garment districts (not really but models would work less and do we really need tyra banks and naiomi campbell with free time?)
and then you leave the city and there are villages and farms and mountains and rolling hills
most steeped in the gestation of this continent a historically magic tour of history
we are a better nation for new york
what a place!

state by state speak your mind about...new mexico

when i think of new mexico i picture a john wayne movie set
tall buttes and mesas in the distance and desert scrub all around
i think it may have some of that but not as much as some of its neighbors
its a rocky mountain state with snow peaks and such
every type of animal is represented there from chipmonks to cougars
pretty much annexed from mexico in the 1840s wars
in 1861 the csa claimed it as a territory
because of its border status it has had a latin influence throughout its existence and 46% of its population is descended from spanish colonists
it has the largest native population of any state except alaska
new mexico has archeological sites that go back to the mogollon and the anasazi (1200 bc)
history and nature combined to make new mexico a great place
i cant wait to go
