Blues guitarist B.B. King is in home hospice care in Las Vegas,
The 89-year-old musician posted thanks to fans on his official website Friday for well-wishes and prayers.
Las Vegas police Officer Jesse Roybal says an ambulance was summoned Thursday to King's address and a person was hospitalized following what was characterized as a dispute over medical care.
The hospitalization was the second in a month for King, who was diagnosed with diabetes decades ago.
In October, he canceled the final shows of his 2014 tour after falling ill in Chicago.
Tex. Gov. Abbott has his own kinda private Guard to prevent Jade Helm from taking over Texas.
So there are 2 stories here.
One is that the extensive military exercise Jade Helm is gonna happen this summer, and some people in the affected states are,
at best, suspicious, and at worst, downright foaming at the mouth paranoid.
Well, Gov. Abbott of Texas has come out to help his nervous citizens:
Now here is real interesting part.....Abbott is talking about the Texas Guard...NOT the National Guard.
dear Jaunita Jean , who channels Molly Ivins like nobody's business, explains...
The Texas Guard is for people too old or too chicken to join the real military. They are for civil help only, like cleaning up after a hurricane. They do not get to carry guns, even if they have one.

Our Great Fat Greek....shaving
Mr. Dixie brought the mail in a few minutes ago.
There is a bulky white letter size envelope, from Greece, for him.
and inside are 2 new looking packages of Bic razors, with metal edges or something like that.
Naturally I am curious as hell.
Turns out, he cannot find this type of his favorite razor where we live out here in the sticks.
So he went to e-bay.
and found a seller in Greece.
Total cost is 7.00 for both packages and mailing.
For razors that will last him a year or more.
and no 9.5% tax that we have to pay here.
I am left with the feeling that there is something very wrong in this country.
Mystery of Freddie Gray's spinal cord injury may be linked to infamous "nickel ride".
Snip:
Two weeks ago, when Gray was arrested on a Baltimore street, for reasons that remain murky, he was handcuffed and - as captured on a cellphone video - dragged and tossed into the back of the van. Inside, it was later reported, he was shackled after officers reported that Gray became "irate." However, he was not buckled in for the ride - a serious breach of regulations.
Snip:
Incredibly, this has happened multiple times in Baltimore - including a "rough ride" 10 years ago that injured the spine and killed an arrestee named Dondi Johnson - as well as several multi-million-dollar civil judgments and settlements.
Snip:
Ditto in Philadelphia. In 2001, the Inquirer documented 20 cases of arrestees who were injured during apparent "nickel rides" that critics said provided cops a "hands-free" method to dole out street justice - including three who suffered spinal cord injuries, two of them permanently paralyzed.
I hope the family has a sharp lawyer who can find out about this history.
Greece backed out of Russian gas deal....seems to be a suicidal move.
From nakedcapitalism.com links page:
[T]he Greek government in the end balked at the Gazprom offer (which was ready for signature on 23rd April 2015) following warnings from the EU Commission that its terms were contrary to European law i.e., to the Third Energy Package.
I was told by my source that the Greek government could not in the end bring itself to defy the EU Commission on this issue because of its fears that this would jeopardise its negotiations with the EU finance ministers at the Eurogroup meeting on the following day.
Alexander Mercouriss source in Athens may be a Russian diplomat or official at their embassy in Athens, who is aggravated by Greeces incomprehensible negotiating strategy.
There was no point in making overtures to Moscow if Greece was not prepared to follow them through. It was totally predictable that the EU authorities would object to whatever deal Greece made with Russia or with Gazprom. If Greece was not prepared to defy the EU authorities on this question, it should not have proceeded at all. As it is the Russians must be annoyed at being led up the garden path, while the European leaders have been antagonised and persuaded that Greeces anti-austerity posture is ultimately a bluff.
US successfully tests self-steering bullets that can follow moving targets
Gulp!
Experienced testers have used the technology to hit targets that were actively evading the shot, and even novices that were using the system for the first time were able to hit moving targets.
The project, which is known as Extreme Accuracy Tasked Ordnance weapon, or Exacto, is being made for the American governments military research agency, Darpa.
Technology in the bullet allows it to compensate for weather and wind, as well as the movement of people it is being fired at, and curve itself in the air as it heads towards its target. That should allow snipers to become much more accurate even those that are not experienced at using the system, as was found in the tests in February.
Texas/Louisiana DUers....everyone ok after that horrible storm yesterday?
I found some pics. That baseball size hail in Texas is jawdropping.

Remember the pro-cannabis mother whose son was taken away by cops?
There is now a Go Fund Me set up for her legal defense.

Thought it would be cool if this group wanted to help her out.
Here is her story, which is also on the link.
After her son spoke out about medical marijuana, police detained him and launched a raid on Shona Bandas home. Well, they had that drug education class at school that was just conducted by the counselors They pulled my son out of school at about 1:40 in the afternoon and interrogated him. Police showed up at my house at 3 I let them know that they werent allowed in my home without a warrant I didnt believe you could get a warrant off of something a child says in school. Banda continued, We waited from 3 oclock until 6 oclock. They got a warrant at 6 oclock at night and executed a warrant into my home. My husband and I are separated, and neither parent was contacted by authorities before [our son] was taken and questioned.
They subsequently conducted a raid and then called me when the raid was over letting me know that there was a list of items they took on my kitchen table, I was allowed to go home, and [an officer] gave me his word I would not be arrested in person or at work and that charges would be given to me in a postcard in the mail. I have not been charged with anything at this point, but I have a hard time believing that its OK for them to interrogate my child without parental consent for hours, said Banda. A report by The Human Solution International notes that officers found 2 ounces of cannabis and an ounce of cannabis oil during the raid.
Banda then described the actions that the State of Kansas began to take in an effort to take her son from her, On the 24th, he was taken into custody. That was on a Tuesday. He was taken out of town Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Friday we had a temporary hearing and temporary custody was granted to my ex. Now the only reason why temporary custody was granted to my ex is because the judge said something to the effect that the amount of cannabis found in my home was going to possibly be felony charges and it was pointless letting the child return home to his mother. She believes that the state is trying to take her son away and said, The state is trying to deem it to where [Shona's ex-husband] is not fit and Im not fit and theyre trying to take custody of our child.
