White House opens door to tolls on interstate highways, removing long-standing prohibition.

You know those highways that were built with your tax dollars?
The Gov wants to tax them again.

With pressure mounting to avert a transportation funding crisis this summer, the Obama administration Tuesday opened the door for states to collect tolls on interstate highways to raise revenue for roadway repairs.

The proposal, contained in a four-year, $302 billion White House transportation bill, would reverse a long-standing federal prohibition on most interstate tolling

unbelievable weather last night

i sat safely snug and dry and watched this on doppler. That storm SAT over Mobile and Pensecola for hours.
( 90 miles south of me)
check out this story for some jaw dropping pics.

Freak “S” shaped storm unleashes biblical rain in Pensacola, Mobile

A rare and extreme weather pattern has produced obscene and devastating amounts of rainfall from Mobile, Alabama to Pensacola, Florida. Up to 2 feet of rain fell in the last 24 hours in isolated locations in this region.
Remarkably, these rainfall totals bested scores of moisture-laden tropical storms and hurricanes that have come through this region over the last century.

The impacts of the flash flooding have been devastating, as the flood waters have taken out bridges and formed destructive sink holes. The video and pictures are not to be believed…

Storm folks, check in pls.

On a scale of 1 to 10, the storm in our area was a 12. Constant lightening, wind, and even hail.
Have not seen hail in a storm in this area, in decades.
We lost power in the middle of it, which made the lightening seem even more impressive.
Only in fla. have I seen lightening storms like this.

Ala had est. 18 tornadoes last night. 4 dead.
Still waiting for more light and reports to come in.

April 28, 2014

3 died just minutes ago in Ala.tornadoes.

Northern part of state.
F-4 to F-5 category.
The storms come in at right angles to state, so hit a lot of territory.

WHNT is reporting three simultaneous tornadoes currently traveling the same path.

More here:http://blog.al.com/breaking/2014/04/live_weather_updates_as_storms.html#incart_graystrip

My area is forecast to get some of those storms later tonight.
the wind chimes are going off pretty strongly outside.......

So THAT's why the banks and Wall Street can never be publicly "arrested"

Michael Lewis's book Flash Boys is jam packed with revelations about Wall Street.
One of the revelations is this:
the entire Wall Street system reflects the imaginary numbers created by the super fast computer trading, which has been around for years now. In other words, not on real life value.

The traders, for the most part, only know how to use/react to what the computer programs tell them. Much like the blind men and the elephant analogy, they only see the parts of the system they work in.

The computers gallop along their own, actually. Those programs have been created, edited, added onto, so many times that any changes in the code at this point threaten to collapse the system.

and here is the heart stopper:
This model is GLOBAL.
Lewis states that Wall Street "exported" the entire system to global markets by now, so that they all can work on the same information and mechanisms.

think about that for a minute.
Think about how you would unwind a global financial market.
The market that pensions and paychecks and all banking services are based on, across the world.

BIG tiger by the tail indeed.

Fargo foreclosure manual on trial!

America’s largest mortgage servicer just lost the battle to keep its controversial Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Foreclosure Attorney Procedure Manual out of federal court in New York.

At a hearing in lower Manhattan on April 8, Judge Allan Gropper admitted the manual into the bankruptcy case of a local homeowner in foreclosure, and he approved a request by his lawyer to be allowed to dig deeper.

Now Wells must produce a witness with knowledge of the manual who can answer lawyer Linda Tirelli’s questions under oath.

Hopefully, the tide is turning against fraudulent foreclosures.

The new real estate boom: Trailer parks.

Trailer Parks Lure Wall Street Investors Looking for Double-Wide Returns

Snippets:
With more of the U.S. middle class sliding into poverty and many towns banning new trailer parks, enterprising owners are getting rich renting the concrete pads and surrounding dirt on which residents park their homes.
The economics of mobile homes are particularly alluring to folks who’ve made their living in the markets. Many counties in the U.S. have banned or discouraged construction of new trailer parks because the inhabitants are poor, pay little in taxes and drain resources. Yet demand is higher than ever, new investors in the parks say, because so many people never got back on their feet after the recession.http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-04-10/trailer-parks-lure-investors-pursuing-double-wide-returns.html

Tricon Targets Upscale Mobile Home Parks in U.S. Bet
Tricon Capital Group Inc. (TCN), the Canadian company whose profit rose five-fold last year after betting on U.S. housing in the depths of the slump, now plans to expand into upscale mobile-home parks.
“If you look at the U.S. population, it’s definitely growing, it’s definitely getting older, and it’s probably getting poorer,” Berman, 40, said yesterday at Bloomberg’s office in Toronto. “What single-family rental and manufactured housing do is they provide very affordable housing for people.”
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-03-25/tricon-targets-upscale-mobile-home-parks-in-u-s-bet.htm

Lest you think this is for the poor folk, I know of a mobile home park in SF area in which the homes sell for 200-300 K PLUS the lot rent is now up to 1,000 or more bucks a month, and rents rise 50 to 75 a year.... every year. Even for the people who have been there long enough to own their own homes ( many of which were built in the 70 and 80's) lot rent that high is making prices unaffordable.

Pssst...don't look now, but the Gov. is cleaning up some of the mortgage mess...shhhhhhhhh

In what appears to be a quiet move, most likely brought on by liability concerns, THIS is happening:

Ginnie Mae has halted the transfer of mortgage servicing rights from Bank of America (BAC) to a nonbank servicer because the bank is missing documents such as recorded mortgages and title policies on the underlying home loans.

Yep...over 10 years since missing mortgage paperwork fraud has been going on, and years after alternative media discovered and pointed out robo-signing and industry wide forgeries by banks and servicers to fake the lost paperwork, Ginnie Mae, a semi-private lender, has finally noticed a problem.

Ted Tozer, the president of Ginnie Mae, says he has held up the transfer of servicing rights by B of A "for an extended period" because the bank is not complying with agency's guidelines that require all mortgage documents be delivered to custodians in a timely manner.

"Issues are coming up now because documents are missing," Tozer said Tuesday. "It's a new phenomenon with the major banks getting out of the servicing business. We don't want to transfer the risk to a new servicer."

uh..no, Teddy, it is NOT a new phenonom...have you not watched tv or read the news for the last 10 years???
Hey, Teddy, have you not read DU, fer Christ's sakes...some of us have been writing about this since at least 2008.

It is unclear how widespread the problem of missing documents is in the transfers of mortgage servicing, Tozer says, and he does not want to single out B of A.
"I don't mean to sound like we're picking on B of A," he says. "I can't say if it's just B of A or not."

and
"As far as how big the issue is, we're not really sure,"

Pssst...teddy, it is ALL the major banks that took the loans and sold them off and tried to foreclose on missing paperwork mortgages.

Teddy boy has other stupid statements in the rest of the story, but be sure to note what is going on with the Big Banks trying to get out of servicing mortgages, and the fact the new NON-BANK servicers are also being investigated.
