Once again the Internet stymies the cops....
Luckily for Flores and his girlfriend, Frasier recorded the entire incident on his tablet. But the police took his tablet and deleted the video. At least they thought they deleted it. When Frasier got home he discovered the video file reappeared once the tablet synced with the cloud server.
Banks and hedge funds losing big time by the dropping oil prices.
Karma is a bitch re: the continuing decrease in oil prices.
Thats just one loan. At 60 cents on the dollar, a $340 million loss. Who knows how many similar, and bigger, loans are out there? Put together, these stories slowly seeping out of the juncture of energy and finance gives the good and willing listener an inkling of an idea of the losses being incurred throughout the global economy, and by the large financiers. Theres a bloodbath brewing in the shadows.
Meanwhile, KKR and the Carlyle Group are facing huge losses on just one of their oil producing ventures Samson Resources Corp
that they bought for for $7.2 billion in 2011, and now are seeking buyers.
Bill Cosby resigns from fundraising post at alma mater
For decades, Cosby has been involved in higher education, sitting on advisory boards, lending his name to scholarships and donating millions to numerous institutions, especially historically black colleges.
UMass Amherst, where Cosby received a masters and a doctorate in education, said in a statement on Wednesday that the comedian agreed to resign as the honorary co-chair of the schools ongoing $300m fundraising campaign, the Boston Globe reported.
He no longer has any affiliation with the campaign nor does he serve in any other capacity for the university, said UMass spokesman Edward Blaguszewski in a statement. The day before, the university said Cosby would remain in the post, the Globe said.
Was not too long ago that organizations would not be as eager to let go of people involved in a sex abuse scandal.
Good to see such quicker responses.
Scientists Say E-Cigs Contain 10 Times As Many Cancer Chemicals As Cigarettes
Formaldehyde -- a substance found in building materials and embalming fluids -- was present at much higher levels than carcinogens found in the smoke from regular cigarettes, the official said.
"In one brand of e-cigarette the team found more than 10 times the level of carcinogens contained in one regular cigarette," said researcher Naoki Kunugita, adding that the amount of formaldehyde detected varied through the course of analysis.
"Especially when the... wire (which vaporises the liquid) gets overheated, higher amounts of those harmful substances seemed to be produced."

First case of man 'sexually aroused by flatulence'
The man, who has been given the pseudonym Brad, states that he is "not sexually attracted to flatulence per se, (but) the person releasing the flatulence".
He said that he engaged in his first act as a 16-year-old when he heard a male friend pass wind in front of him.
He said: "It was rather appealing in sound and I found myself fixating on it.
"At first, I didn't want to admit I was into his farting, but eventually I decided to experiment. I set up a bet at some point and intentionally lost, with the wager being the right to fart in the loser's face for a week. I continued to lose such bets once every few weeks for about two years."
Mobile County ( Republican) License Commissioner indicted.
Here's the thing...she ran unopposed the election that put her in office, now both she and her deputy are indicted for financial and political fraud.
They could NOT find one Dem. to run against her, that is how locked up this state is.
Hastie and Yeager are suspected of misusing county funds and deceiving the Mobile County Commission, according to the indictment filed in federal court in Mobile.
The indictment document accuses Hastie and Yeager of falsifying invoices and misappropriating funds in order to "obtain political lobbying and consulting services and personal benefits without the knowledge and oversight of the County Commission and at the expense of Mobile County taxpayer dollars."
