Fifth diabetes medicine recalled for containing too much of a 'probable carcinogen'

Thursday, Lupin Pharmaceuticals announced its recall of Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-Release Tablets after the FDA found the Type 2 diabetes medicine exceeded standards for NDMA.
Though NDMA (N-Nitrosodimethylamine) occurs naturally in many foods, the FDA has a limit on how much should be ingested daily because it’s classified as a “probable human carcinogen.” The FDA said earlier this month it had asked five companies to voluntarily recall its Metformin after testing turned up too much NDMA.

Apotex, Amneal, Teva and Marksans Pharma previously pulled their Metformin extended release tablets. Lupin completes the list with its recall of 500 mg tablets, lot No. G901203, with an expiration date of 12/2020. The NDC numbers on the label is No. 68180-336-07.

Those taking Metformin should keep taking it until deciding on another treatment with your doctor or pharmacist. Advice from the FDA for Metformin patients can be found on the FDA’s website as well as a place to report problems with this or any other drug.

Anyone in the drug chain from wholesalers down to consumers should call Inmar Rx Solutions at 855-532-1856 to return recalled Metformin or to get questions about this recall answered.

IBM will no longer offer, develop, or research facial recognition technology

This is HUGH!!!!!

BM’s CEO says we should reevaluate selling the technology to law enforcement

IBM will no longer offer general purpose facial recognition or analysis software, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna said in a letter to Congress today. The company will also no longer develop or research the technology, IBM tells The Verge. Krishna addressed the letter to Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Reps. Karen Bass (D-CA), Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and Jerrold Nadler (D-NY).

“IBM firmly opposes and will not condone uses of any [facial recognition] technology, including facial recognition technology offered by other vendors, for mass surveillance, racial profiling, violations of basic human rights and freedoms, or any purpose which is not consistent with our values and Principles of Trust and Transparency,” Krishna said in the letter. “We believe now is the time to begin a national dialogue on whether and how facial recognition technology should be employed by domestic law enforcement agencies.”

The woman journalist who was blinded by a police rubber bullet has a GoGundMe account now.

The mother of two was left with a life changing injury when a rubber bullet struck her in the eye. She had to be helped to the hospital by strangers in the crowd, as her eye filled completely with blood.
After going through surgery, doctors informed her that she would be permanently blind in one eye.
Doctors project that it will take up to 6 months or more for the wounds and scarring on her face to heal.

Since this was done in trump's name, I am donating from the stimulus check he so generously gave me.
I'll make sure he knows it too.
