Florida Republicans reject 2 year moratorium on sale of AR -15 assault rifles. 3/2/18

Original post in latest news, by ..... teach1st
_________________________________________________________________________________

Please, pass this on to everyone in the United States. This vote could sway a lot of people to vote for the Democratic Party. It is simple, clear, makes clear who the culprit is: The Republican Party. This is a reliable source (Tampa Bay Times) .. and is on the record. They rejected a 2 year moratorium. This is today. 3/2/18...

If we need proof where the Republican Party stands on gun control, this is it...pass it on
.............................YES, THIS IS THE PROOF......

This is not about banning all guns. This is about a 2 year moratorium on sale of the AR -15.

In a surprise move, senators briefly approved and then rejected a two-year moratorium on sale of AR-15 assault rifles, the type used in the Feb. 14 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

The unexpected action came on an unrecorded voice vote at which senators shout “yea” or “nay,” and it was overturned a short time later by a roll call vote of 21-17. All no votes were Republicans.

I saw a brand new word today...."bombogenesis" ..this word is in the following sentence:

5th paragraph, in the CNN story about the storm, at this ling:
https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/03/us/weather-bomb-cyclone/index.html

The storm morphed into a "bomb cyclone" after undergoing the so-called bombogenesis Friday, slamming much of the Northeast with heavy snow and rain. Significant coastal flooding and even hurricane-force winds hit New England.

___________________________________________________________________________________
Google defined it this way:..........

Bombogenesis is a popular term that describes a midlatitude cyclone that rapidly intensifies. Fourteen of 20 hurricane-force wind events underwent bombogenesis in the North Atlantic during the first two months of 2014.

It's the sugar damn it!!!! salt too.

I have been addicted to sugar for almost 65 years..Salt about the same. When I was 6 I crawled around a movie theater eating slightly used popcorn. love the salt. !!! put some butter and it is better..
............butter is better....At age 3 or 4 my brother was a baby and I wanted to eat his baby food..you know..sugar?? It ain't like booze............."don't drink that, that is for adults!!
But, when you are 5...you have a "Birthday Party"...and you have "Birthday Cake"..with frosting on it...
............sweat, tasty, good tasting sugar. YOu like it, have another piece, after all it is your birthday!!!
You wonder how people get hooked on sugar?...well if you really like the frosting, and it tastes so good..really good, and you want more...you could already be hooked. A strange but true comment about Trump as President of the U.S.A. (one sentence)

Most of us that post here, with our knowledge and experience, (varied as it may be) would do a better job at being President of the United States than Trump..

Parents arrested after children found living in a box for nearly 4 years: CNN

(CNN) — Sheriff's deputies in California were conducting an area check Wednesday when they came upon a large, rectangular box made of plywood -- and found three children living near mounds of trash and human feces.

The box was on a property that had neither running water nor electricity and was surrounded by large holes, police said. There were also 30 to 40 cats inside a travel trailer and roaming freely, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said.

Police said deputies found that three children -- age 11, 13 and 14 -- had been living in the large plywood box for about four years. The box measured about 20 feet long, 4 feet high and 10 feet wide. The children, police said, were found with "an inadequate amount of food and were living in an unsuitable and unsafe environment." Children and Family Service responded and took custody of the children

The parents, Mona Kirk, 51, and Daniel Panico, 73, were arrested on charges of willful cruelty to a child. Their bail was set at $100,000. It is not clear whether the couple has an attorney or when they will appear in court.

Last American trade war didn't work out so great: CNN

https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/02/politics/donald-trump-steel-tariffs-q-and-a/index.html

Chris Cillizza, CNN editor
Patrick Gillespie, an economics reporter for CNNMoney.

Cillizza: Let's start with Trump's tweet this morning that "trade wars are good, and easy to win." How much basis in fact is there for that claim?

Gillespie: America's last trade war exacerbated the Great Depression in the 1930s, when unemployment rose to 25%. Claiming it was protecting American jobs, Congress passed the Smoot-Hawley Act in 1930. The original bill was meant to protect farmers. But to build political support, many lawmakers asked for tariffs -- or taxes -- on all sorts of goods in exchange for their vote
.
Several nations, such as Canada, slapped steep tariffs -- or taxes -- on US goods shipped and sold abroad. For example, US exports of eggs to Canada fell to 7,900 in 1932 from 919,000 in 1929, according to Doug Irwin, a Dartmouth professor and former trade adviser to President Reagan.

The result: US imports fell 40% in the two years after Smoot-Hawley. Banks shuttered. Unemployment shot up. Surely, there were a litany of factors at play. But economists widely agree Smoot-Hawley made the Great Depression much worse than otherwise.

In 2016, I asked Trump's trade adviser Peter Navarro whether Trump's trade policies would start a trade war akin to Smoot-Hawley. He told me "there are no similarities at all." He added that Smoot-Hawley was a "protectionist" tariff -- that is, it fired the first shot in the war. Navarro argued that trade has been unfair for decades. Trump's tariffs would be "defensive."

A good gut check came from New York Federal Reserve President William Dudley -- currently the No. 2 in rank at America's central bank. In a Thursday speech (before Trump's tariffs), Dudley said tariffs and other trade barriers are a "dead end" and "destructive."

Couple accused of making kids live in plywood box for 4 years

Source: New York Post

March 1, 2018
A California couple is being held on child cruelty charges for making their three kids live in a plywood box for the past four years, according to officials.

Mona Kirk, 51, and Daniel Panico, 73, were arrested Thursday by San Bernardino County sheriffs deputies and booked in the Morongo Basin Jail.

Cops stumbled upon their childrens sickening living conditions during a property check in Joshua Tree, which is about 130 miles east of LA.

Officials said the box was found near an abandoned travel trailer. Inside the trailer, deputies discovered around 30-40 cats roaming freely, along with mounds of trash and feces, from both humans and feline.

Tump is much stupider than anyone thinks...Hope Hicks an example

For whatever reasons Hope Hicks was some kind of support for Trump. That is what has been said, and I accept that. He relied on her. No matter what we say about Trump, we all agree that being President of the United States is a very tough job...Tremendous responsibility, power, etc..

So, Hicks testifies to Congress, and has difficulty telling the truth. After an obvious struggle, she comes up with some sort of compromise in her mind about telling the truth. Tough job in the Trump administration, but she found a way to do that. So, she tells the truth. What does Trump do? He calls her "stupid" for telling the truth.

Here is a person who helps you to do one of the most difficult jobs in the world, an advisor, and he puts her down for telling the truth to Congress. She is supposed to tell the truth, and took an oath to do so. So he puts her down for doing so. He couldn't keep his mouth shut to someone who he relied on for help to do a difficult job. All he had to do was keep his mouth shut. That is all, and he couldn't do it. Trump had to put her down, and call her "stupid" for struggling and working out a way to "tell the truth."

This says more about Trump than anyone can imagine. He didn't support her for her struggle. He didn't realize how important that issue was/is to her. He put her down. That is who Trump is.
