An interesting opinion. Most of us here at Democratic Underground, would have done better than Trump.

Why? Because of intelligence, ability to listen to others, and empathy, we would have done, and will do a better job with this horrific virus situation than Donald Trump.
... Supposing we had the information that Trump has, and the access to top advise on how to transmit that information, (as the President of the United States has), we would have done a better job already. It is a sad reflection on Trump, but I am sure that what I just said holds true for many of us. We have all faced horrific events and issues and dealt with them. Remember that there is access to the very best information in the world to the President of the United States. And access to the top leaders of the world for that person to discuss how and why things should be done. Instead of being a "leader" Trump has shown by his actions and words to be far less than that.
... Of course this would be extremely hard and consuming, but because we would be representing this country, in most difficult times, we would rise to the occasion. Rarely has Donald Trump done that.

A positive aspect of Joe Biden as our nominee.

...Please do not underestimate this aspect of Joe Biden being our nominee for President of the U.S.A....
...Often when the name "Biden" is mentioned many people will think of Trump trying to get dirt on Biden's son, and then many will also remember that Trump is "a crook". Trump tried to get dirt on Biden's son, and he was impeached. Often people will immediately think about " Trump the crook."
...Further, most people know that what Trump did and was impeached for was indeed crooked. The Republican Party backed up Trump, and people will also think of that too. We are not talking about a minor aspect of Donald Trump. Trump has a lifetime of being a bully and doing crooked things. His past lawyer is serving a prison sentence , as you read these words, for the "Crooked Bully Donald Trump." Many of his other past associates are also serving prison time, or are going to. Trump enjoys being a "bully" and getting away with all sorts of things, and that is obvious..
...Donald Trump often screams and yells about "Obama did this and that " Biden will bring up in many minds, immediately, "the positive aspects of Barack Obama compared to the bully Donald Trump". Deep down in our hearts, the great majority of people everywhere, hate the "bully" and have awful memories of the bullies we have encountered. Trump personifies the ."crooked, pushy, mean bully. Joe Biden is the perfect opponent.
...Most honest people in the U.S. will think of the "Bully Donald Trump" when they vote in November. I remember the people who bullied me more than 50 years ago. And most people who vote next November, will also remember the bullies. And one more fact: bullies never apologize. And guess who else does not apologize?

Report that may have shifted Trump's Opinion, CNN

If you hit the link below, you will read an article that predicts as many as 1,000,000 deaths in the U.S. This report was given to the White House Task Force over the weekend.

updated 4:01 ET, Tuesday March 17, 2017, ... Nick Paton Walsh, CNN

title of article:

"US, UK coronavirus strategies shifted following UK epidemiologists' ominous report"
_________________________________________________________________________________

(CNN) — A study by UK epidemiologists predicts that attempts to slow, or mitigate -- rather than actively halt, or suppress -- the novel coronavirus could overwhelm the number of intensive care hospital beds and lead to about 250,000 deaths in the UK and more than a million in the United States during the course of the current pandemic.

The study, which has not been published in a peer-reviewed journal, was released on Monday by London's Imperial College COVID-19 Response Team, which says it is advising the UK government on its response strategy. The study says it used modeling that has informed the approach of the British government in recent weeks; on Monday, the government abruptly called on vulnerable and elderly Britons to isolate themselves for 12 weeks, and introduced a variety of social distancing and quarantine recommendations that days earlier seemed distant prospects.

Sir Patrick Vallance, chief scientific adviser to the UK, confirmed Tuesday that the Imperial College study was among those the UK government was looking at "What suppression in that paper talks about is exactly what we are doing," he said.

Also on Monday, President Donald Trump unveiled a 15-day plan to slow new infections in the United States, including more stringent recommendations about staying home and avoiding groups of 10 people or more, among other steps.

An author of the study, Imperial College Professor Neil Ferguson, said in an email to CNN on Tuesday the study was given to the White House Coronavirus Task Force over the weekend and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday.

about author of study, from Wikipedia (if you hit link below, then you will have to hit another link, Neil Morris Ferguson, epidemiologist..to see his background and his work. It is there, takes a while to get there, but the information about Ferguson is complete. (Yes, it worth a look, this person has credentials)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Ferguson_(epidemiologist)

Neil Morris Ferguson..... OBE FMedSci (born 1968) is a British epidemiologist.[2][3][4] He is a professor of mathematical biology, who specialises in the epidemiology of infectious disease spread in humans and animals. He is the director of the Abdul Latif Jameel Institute for Disease and Emergency Analytics (J-IDEA), head of the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology in the School of Public Health and Vice-Dean for Academic Development in the Faculty of Medicine, all at Imperial College, London. Ferguson uses mathematical modelling to provide data on several disease outbreaks including the swine flu outbreak in 2009 in the UK and the ebola epidemic in Western Africa in 2016. His work has also included research on mosquito-borne diseases including zika fever, yellow fever, dengue fever and malaria.

The essence of Trump is his total stupidity. He made fun of something he knew nothing about.

He said words to effect that there would be 4 or 5 cases and then zero and it would go away. Trump thought he had knowledge about something, and he knew exactly nothing. He faked it, and the fake was totally wrong. Something to prove his stupidity to those who think he is not stupid. Further, this is about a "life and death matter" and he should have kept his mouth shut. But he had to fake it, and act like he knew it all, but all he did was prove that he is stupid and knew nothing about the issue. (And Yes, Trump had experts who he could turn to for more info, but he didn't turn to them, because he "knew it all." Now, sometime later, he has turned to the experts for information.
