Found on FB: A script for calling the DOJ.

Hillary is up 2 million votes and there is compelling evidence of voter fraud in key swing states.
Call the Voting Section of the DOJ directly at (202) 307-2767. Ask them to audit the vote. The other numbers floating around won't get you anywhere.

Here's a good script: “My name is ___, and I’m a registered voter in zip code ___. I’m urging you to support the call to audit the vote, investigate voter suppression, particularly in North Carolina, Florida and Wisconsin, and investigate Russian tampering of US election results.”

Michelle Rhee takes herself out of the running for trump's education secretary.

Michelle Rhee, who rose to national prominence as the controversial chancellor of D.C. Public Schools, appeared on Tuesday to take herself out of the running to become President-elect Donald Trump’s education secretary.
>snip<
“I have appreciated the opportunity to share my thoughts on education with the PEOTUS,” Rhee’s message said, using an acronym for President-elect of the United States. “Interestingly many colleagues warned me against doing so. They are wrong. Mr. Trump won the election. Our job as Americans is to want him to succeed. Wishing for his failure would be wanting the failure of our millions of American children who desperately need a better education.”

All we heard during the campaign is how Hillary never gives up.

Never backs down. Spine of steel. Come on, Madam Secretary! Fight for the audit in those three swing states.

This is hard to believe.

In the past two weeks we have seen the settlement of the trump u. case and now the "pay to play" at the t-rump foundation. Acts of white nationalism, bigotry toward minorities, and hate-vandalism have abounded. The press has been almost banished. There are protests in many cities and abroad. Would the WH really like to see another 4 years of so much unrest and assaults on our rights? What will this country look like by 2020? It is terrifying.

Today's Google Doodle: Native American author James Welch and Ledger Art.

About the Doodle: http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/google-makes-ledger-art-celebrate-legendary-native-american-author-james-welch-180961153/

Sophie Diao, the Google Doodler who created the image on the homepage, did her best to capture Welch’s unique life and legacy in the doodle. On its blog, Google writes that the image, which was created just in time for National Native American History Month, is intended to pay tribute to both “ artistic appeal and ability to bring the experiences of the Native American people to life.”

Diao, who has a background in film storytelling and animation, found inspiration not just in Welch’s books, but in ledger art, a form of 19th-century artwork created by Native Americans in the margins of old account books and ledgers that saw a revival in the late 20th century. “It’s a really unique style,” she tells Smithsonian.com. “So pretty. It caught my eye and I really wanted to do something around that.”

For Diao, who is of Chinese descent, the chance to learn about Welch’s life and work also resonated with her as a woman of color. “I definitely sympathize with the fears that were shown in about your culture being taken away from you our being changed against your will.” She also worked with Native American employees at Google and with Welch’s widow to make sure she represented the subtleties of a culture not her own. “I wanted to strike a balance between being reverential of his work and and his heritage as a Native American, but also make it easy for the user to look at. I didn’t want it to look like some random person’s idea of tribal art.”

He has half of the county terrified.

Who can exercise control over him if he does something reckless?

He is commander-in-chief so the Joint Chiefs report to him. The FBI and soon the Justice Dept. will be run by his cronies. Congress is now pretty much controlled by the lapdogs who supported (or refused to stop) him. Is there anyone who can take the reins and stop him from destroying us and the country?

I have two baby grand daughters who will inherit the detritus of his reign. We are still dealing with the after-effects of reagan and the bushes.

I am glad to see Manchin included.

I read rumors that he was considering crossing the aisle if the democrats did not win the Senate. I know he's far from perfect, but I would hate to see us lose one single seat and to give the repugs more to gloat about. WV is a very conservative state and they are probably furious at him for attempting to get some moderate gun sale regulations. I hope giving him a leadership role will keep him on the blue side of the Senate.

As soon as I logged on this morning, I got a jury summons!

Sigh.... what have we learned, DU?

I know that people are still upset and venting and it will take some time. But we have to start to rebuild. My understanding is that the administrators will grant a sort of "grace period" for people to get it all out, but then we really need to stop the infighting. For those who consider this too restrictive or akin to imposing an "echo chamber," maybe another site would be more suited to your style of disagreement.

I don't know... I just know that life was hell without DU last week and it is good to be back and to appreciate what we have here.
