"We've got more work to do."

December 19, 2012

Think *this* sucks? It's only *Part 1* of the Social Security cuts

The chained-CPIing of the 99% is just a "technical tweak" (or whatever nonsense they're calling it) as part of the deficit negotiations.

It's very likely that a second attack on Social Security will take place later on, to "strengthen it for our children": after all, it will go bankrupt in 25 years or so (which is unmitigated bullshit, based on cooked numbers from Timmy Geithner et al - ask me if you want details). So we have to "save" it! There's already been broad agreement that this should be a negotiation separate from the deficit discussions.

In all, the President's Simpson-Bowles Commission called for a 22% cut in the average Social Security recipients benefits. I expect that the assault won't stop until the wealthiest have that 22% in their own bank accounts.

The biggest bank heist of all time.

That's all I got. Let the Manny-abuse begin!

And sign the effing petition! Email four others and ask them to sign it too, right now!

Looks like Obama's on the cusp of fulfilling his dream

of cutting Social Security benefits.

10% cuts for 85-year-olds: very impressive!

The wealthy can start sleeping better again, now that they know the Trust fund is starting to funnel into their coffers.

Don't think this is a good idea? Then sign the $&@#ing petition:

WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO: not cut Social Security and/or Medicare to simply keep taxes low on the wealthiest Americans

Ask your friends and family to sign too. One day, if they're not eating cat food, they'll thank you.

Sign the petition: no 10% Social Security cut for 85-year-olds!!!

The deal being discussed in the media will cut Social Security more and more as recipients age - about 10% by the time a person reaches 85. Savage!

And Social Security has zero to do with the deficit - it's forbidden by law from causing a deficit. Obama has said that himself. So why is it part of a deficit deal? Because it allows taxes to stay low on the wealthiest Americans.

ProSense and I put up a White House petition yesterday - we need about 100 more signatures before it becomes publicly-searchable on the White House site.

Will you please help?

WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO: not cut Social Security and/or Medicare to simply keep taxes low on the wealthiest Americans

This is very, very exciting. You did it!

If we just cut a little more from the old, sick, and poor, and/or give more stuff to the wealthy, the Republicans will shake our hands.

This is history being made. You can tell future generations that you were part of this.

"Grandpa, what were Social Security and Medicare?"
"Well, back in the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of this one..."

Won't you help make this happen, by not signing this:

Face it, folks.

You'll vote for Democrats again if they cut Social Security and Medicare, and you'll do it with great passion.

Because they'll be running against a Republican who's even worse.

We are chumps!

Manny Goldstein's lost his mind.

Even worse than normal: he's recommending that all DUers rec the following ProSense post and get it up on the front page:

Krugman: Rumors of a Deal (WTF?) - updated

All of DU should know about this!

Sincerely,

Honest-To-Goodness First-Way Manny

I live in a STRONG gun-control state. Ask me anything.

Our firearms death rate is less than one-third the national average. This saves hundreds of lives in Massachusetts every year.

We have gun shops. People can carry concealed weapons, if they get a permit, which is easy.

I'm not aware that we're violating the Constitution.

I'm not seeing that we have a big problem here - I think the rest of the country can do it, too.

December 16, 2012

It's not "entitlement reform". It's "stealing stuff for the 1%".

I heard on the radio tonight that Boehner's OK with raising tax rates on the hyperwealthy a tiny bit, in exchange for entitlement reform.

It's not "reform". It's "stealing". They're entitlements because we paid for them, just like we're entitled to the money in our bank accounts.

Hands off!
