PA factory to trump: "You have cooties. Please don't visit."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-visit-to-pennsylvania-factory-that-produces-ppe-materials-was-scuttled-after-plant-officials-expressed-concerns-about-health-risks/2020/05/11/10aa97ec-917a-11ea-9e23-6914ee410a5f_story.html

President Trump was pushing to get out in the public eye in recent weeks and tout his leadership during the pandemic, and White House staff thought they had hit on the ideal event: a presidential visit to thank the Pennsylvania factory workers who had recently taken herculean steps to ramp up U.S. supplies of protective equipment.

Workers had received national attention after dozens of them lived for 28 days inside their factory so they could ensure they were virus-free and their production was not contaminated or disrupted by illness.

White House officials pressed to hold an event at the Braskem factory, initially scheduled for last Friday. But after extensive back and forth, factory officials ultimately asked to postpone, worried that a visit from Trump could jeopardize both the safety of the workers and the plant’s ability to produce special material for masks and other medical gear, according to two people familiar with the decision and documents reviewed by The Post.

11 words about Fox News from John Oliver

https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/21/politics/john-oliver-fox-news-coronavirus/index.html

But there was one thing -- actually one sentence of 11 words -- that really stood out to me in the Oliver segment. And it was this, when he was talking about Fox News' coronavirus coverage:

"They only pretend to believe these things on television for money."

The point Oliver was making was that even as many Fox News anchors were pushing the idea that coronavirus was less virulent than the flu and that it was the product of a hyper-partisan media trying to "get" Trump, the company was warning its employees to stay at home and "reducing the staff footprint at our headquarters in New York."

Some DU help, please: Does any one know anything about FPUC benefits coming from the Federal...

Govt? I received a text that seemed too good to be true, but it did contain a link that went to my state's employment site and it seemed to indicate that an additional $600 a week of emergency unemployment compensation was coming from the Federal Government The site stated:

"The first payable week under FPUC is the week beginning March 29, 2020 and ending April 4, 2020. (If you have already claimed and received regular UI for that week, an adjustment payment will be made)

The FPUC program will automatically add an additional $600 to the weekly benefit amount."

There is no indication that action needs to be taken or any further registration need occur, but if anyone else can verify if it's true or knows what to do to apply, please let me know.

Thank you.
