Former senior US general target of probe into leak of Iran cyberattack, official says

Source: FOX

he former second highest ranking officer in the U.S. military is under investigation for allegedly leaking classified information about a covert cyberattack on Iran's nuclear facilities, Fox News confirms.
Retired Marine Gen. James "Hoss" Cartwright is the target of a year-old investigation related in part to information about the Iran cyberattack in a book by David Sanger, a reporter for The New York Times, a senior U.S. official said late Thursday.
A "target" is a person whom a prosecutor or grand jury has substantial evidence linking them to a crime and who is likely to be charged.
In June 2012, the New York Times reported that Cartwright was a crucial player in the cyber operation called Olympic Games, started under President George W. Bush.
Bush reportedly advised President Obama to preserve Olympic Games.
According to the Times, Obama ordered the cyberattacks sped up, and in 2010 an attack using a computer virus called Stuxnet temporarily disabled 1,000 centrifuges that the Iranians were using to enrich uranium.

FOX is the only source I can find for this story so I have no idea how credible it is.

North Carolina Just Became The First State To Eliminate Unemployment Benefits

North Carolina highlights the problem with strict austerity measures. They rank the country’s fifth worst in jobless rates and now, N.C. is eliminating unemployment benefits, making North Carolina the first state to take such a drastic measure.

Eliminating unemployment will be heralded by austerity supporters while leaving jobless residents of North Carolina without food and provisions.

GO TAMMY DUCKWORTH

What's The Dumbest Thing You Could Say To A Congresswoman Who Lost Her Legs In Battle? Um, THIS.

An IRS contractor named Braulio Castillo hurt his foot playing football in military prep school. He never served in the actual military. Then one day, decades later, he used it to get preferred treatment in government contracts. Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), who lost both her legs and still could lose her arm from combat injuries, felt that this might just be a touch inappropriate. It gets amazing around 4:30.

People that abuse disability and VA claims has always been a pet peeve of mine. A woman I worked with was married to a man that got SS Disability for a bad back. He spent every day at the corner bar playing pool for money. My husband HAD a bad back and worked every day, even days when I had to help him get dressed and into his truck to drive to work. He could not play pool or bowl anymore simply because with a bad back you have trouble bending. It pissed me off no end the way people abuse the system. Apparently Tammy feels the same way.

Paula Deen’s business deals are sliding away faster than a pat of butter on a pile of hot cakes

Joining Caesars Entertainment, Smithfield Foods and the Food Network, Walmart has announced that it’s cutting ties to the southern chef. QVC also said earlier this week that it had “concerns” over the recent controversy involving Deen’s use of racial epithets.

Love the pat of butter line.

Surprise! Justice Scalia Strikes Down Arizona Law Requiring Proof Of Citizenship To Register To Vote

In an opinion by conservative Justice Antonin Scalia, a 7-2 Supreme Court held this morning that an Arizona law requiring voting officials to reject voter registration forms that are “not accompanied by concrete evidence of citizenship” conflicts with a federal law requiring states to use a uniform voter registration form for federal elections. Scalia once justified an anti-immigrant opinion with a reference to laws excluding “freed blacks” from southern states, and he called the Voting Rights Act a “perpetuation of racial entitlement. So his authorship of this opinion is both unexpected and a sign of the weakness of Arizona’s legal position in defending this law.
