Washington at war: Dems aim for speedy impeachment push as Trump threatens whistleblower

https://www.cnn.com/2019/09/30/politics/trump-democrats-impeachment-ukraine-investigation/index.html

Washington (CNN)Lawyers for a whistleblower who accused Donald Trump of pressuring Ukraine to intervene in the 2020 election warn that the President's threats pose a grave risk to their client's safety.
Trump meanwhile escalated his attacks on the whistleblower -- demanding to meet his "accuser" face to face during a day of rage-filled tweets about the Democratic attempt to impeach him.
The extraordinary spectacle of the President -- the titular head of the US legal system -- threatening a potential witness in a case against him risks being seen as an attempt to obstruct the investigation. It also cuts against the principle that whistleblowers deserve anonymity and protection, representing another dark twist in an administration that has constantly tested the boundaries of political propriety.

On another frenetic day of political exchanges, Democrats sought to engineer a fast start to their impeachment efforts as their chances of political success hinge on early momentum to keep the White House off balance-

Rudy Giuliani claims he's 'the real whistleblower' and that no one will know the real story on Trump and Ukraine 'if I get killed'

annon Stapleton/Reuters
President Donald Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani is caught in the middle of an explosive whistleblower complaint from an intelligence official alleging that Trump improperly pressured Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
The complaint has spurred an official impeachment inquiry into Trump and could lead to legal consequences for Giuliani, a former US attorney and mayor of New York City.
But Giuliani told Politico he believes he's "the real whistleblower" and said, "If I get killed now, you won't get the rest of the story."
While Giuliani told Politico that he deserved whistleblower protection, his attempts to defend himself have only further incriminated him in the whole saga.
Unlike Trump, Giuliani is a private citizen and could be vulnerable to prosecution, especially as he's confirmed much of the substance of the whistleblower's complaint.

The Governor of South Carolina says time is running out for people needing to get out of the evacuation zone as Hurricane Dorian barrels its way up the US East Coast.

'We thought it was coming and here it is,' he said, according to the New York Post. 'Our message today is, if you are still in an evacuation zone, you still have time to get out. But the time is running out.

The old sheriff in congressman Dav throws his hat in on the race for governor

https://www.kiro7.com/news/local/dave-reichert-considering-challenging-jay-inslee-for-governor/980994475

Dave Reichert, the former King County Sheriff and U.S. Rep. from the 8th District, is considering a run for governor, the state GOP said.
Reichert, who served in Congress from January 2005 to January 2019, would be a Republican challenger to Jay Inslee, a Democrat trying to be the state's first third-term governor since the 1970s.
Reichert was King County Sheriff from January 1997 until his swearing in to Congress. In September 2017, Reichert announced he would not seek reelection in 2018.

Clearly the old sheriff in congressman Dav does miss his glory days riding in a limo with G.W. Bush . And bush whacking bird lady bus driver, an act he saw as powerful. He even had his eye trained on the vice presidency ,but the bottom fell out of the that. Although he did get to see the fly over. And the plane landed in Alaska.

Who do they got to put up there? There is Rossi , they could run him on third try ,ha ha ! No, there are those that see the old sheriff as a sweet peach ready for picking. Oh well, it looks like the old sheriff in congressman Dav is back in the saddle. It remains to be seen how far he can ride.
