Was mis-filed. SO rather than being one of the first cases heard in the court room that day, I was the last.
I sat through the usual stuff - people like me needing more time to get their auto or truck through the smog process. Then came people who had disobeyed or disregarded traffic laws - speeding, making a California stop, going through a red light.
If the person who had the problem was low income, they were desperate to get the court to allow them to do community service rather than to pay a fine (Fines in Calif. are at least $ 170 and go up depending on the infraction.) The difference between a judge substituting whether a single parent got community service or had to pay was the difference between the family eating or not.
But then the serious offenses came into play. And the people being heard were the "Three hots and a cot" crowd. they didn't are if they went into the slammer - they welcomed it.
One guy was explaining to the judge that the reason that he didn't have the registration for the car when the cop stopped him for speeding wasn't really his fault - he had just stolen the car - and so he couldn't or shouldn't be expected to have the car's paperwork was in order. That was his excuse - he had stolen the car.
Everyone in the court room was cracking up. And the judge was laughing too. The guy Had been amusing for the judge - so he got off with a slap on the wrist, and no problem about the car theft.
The whole criminal system is simply to get as much revenue out of those that can somehow pay. For the rest,t eh real criminal class, it all seems to be wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
One reason I am such an ardent supporter of Medical Marijuana is because after researching the issue for an entire summer, it became obvious that the real druggies never worried about jail. They could become a snitch for the government and get out with reduced sentences.
Back before the citizens in California legalized MM, it was the little old lady with MS sitting in her wheelchair who did the hard time. After all, she had no one to snitch on (especially if she grew it herself.) She would end up doing a maximum of ten or fifteen years - as though she, and not the drug kingpins were the problem. I personally went reading through hundreds of such cases, often with photos. It was sad to know that a sick person got such heavy duty sentences, and that the state of Calif. was paying up to 35K a year to incarcerate such "menaces to society."

When ads are inter-active, and basically little film clips
As they "activate" the system a person is using, the ability to post is mangled.
I have seen two posts go missing; had to be re-typed. And then my last response about Wells Fargo was lost forever. Can't it be possible to have non-film ads rather than ads that ruin the ability to interact with people here?

This is getting ridiculous. On Tuesday, four Republican activists tied to Scott Walker and the Wisconsin GOP submitted "Declarations of Candidacy" to run in the recall elections for State Senate...as Democrats!
According to the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign and leading election attorneys, these Republicans running as self-proclaimed "fake Democrats" are likely committing election fraud. At the very least, it's a sleazy, un-democratic gimmick that is set up to confuse and manipulate voters.

In the USA, the top one percent has never seen such increased gains.
Most gains were taken from the struggling and soon to be extinct middle classed.
Naomi Klein and her Shock Doctrine theories have proven to be correct. And the style of "culture" that results is either control of the masses by a Mafia styled elite (as is the case now in Russia) a junta as we saw in South American nations like Chile, and Argentina, or else a totally fascist style of governing.
The thing is, most Americans refuse to see the writing on the wall. Until the leaders of the two parties tell them that it is so, and until the Talking Heads say it is. Way, way back in the nineteen sixties, Carl Jung stated that the American culture was the most conformist on earth.
And that pretty much sums it up. Name one other nation that says it is a democracy, yet only has two parties? Or that doesn't provide health insurance for all, as a given right.
It could be that the plaintiffs in Scheier's case joined the
Plaintiffs in the Rutherford Institute's case. And that case was heard by a US Court in Washington DC, and dismissed on Monday or Tuesday of this week.
Apparently the right of the Homeland Security/TSA people to do whatever they want is totally provided for on the basis of the contents of some secret cable that was not even disclosed in the court proceedings!
Yet people do not think this is a totalitarian nation...
All I know, it is not the nation I grew up in.
You do understand that MediCaid is now under-funded and that many
organizations are simply shutting down under the weight of trying to help 18 to 24% of all Americans with health care needs.
Also, people who own their homes, and are in their late fifties and sixties are very reluctant to have anything to do with MediCaid. Many states have provisions that your "estate" must pay back the monies the state lets you use, should you obtain Food Stamps or MediCaid.
Here in California, I have watched neighbor after neighbor give up on eating, and on medical care, due to what is going on in this country right now.
It didn't have to be this way. If the Obama Administration cared a bit more about the real people in this country rather than spending over 255 billions of dollars on things like modernizing the military, on offering weapons systems to the UAE and Israel, et al, we would have a vibrant nation. (These billions were counted up between August of 2010 and November of 2011. So there is a lot more money spent on war and military than just that!)
As it is, the Administration's DOJ and IRS and DEA have just knocked the medical marijuana industry on its butt. Why? Here in Calfiornia, we were dependent on the monies raised from taxing the medical marijuana industry. These monies - some 125 millions of dolalrs a year - have helped keep our schools open, and our prisons are less of a burden as well.The only thing i can think of is that Obama wants the Big Pharma campaign contributions too badly

People's bodies simply cannot tolerate the high corn syrup that is in everything. The MSG thrown into the mix. Add to those items the fact that fusarium and vomitoxin levels of corn grown using the GM/RoundUp techniques are much higher than in the conventional corn, and you get fat Americans.
When I watched the vaccine hearings held in the
House and Senate committee during the mid-nineties, only a few of the many parents who had come with their autistic kids to testify were obese.
But until research is no longer sponsored by for Profit Big Pharma corporations, we will continue to hear how every other thing out there is a cause except the very products that are causing the autism.
The pro-vaccine crowd does not understand that the clinical trials done before the release of a vaccine last less than three months, and in some cases only six weeks. This is very deficient tsting, on the part of the industry.
