The unsealing of the court documents "represents a huge development in public health," said Tim Litzenburg, one of the lawyers suing Monsanto. Regulatory agencies, scientists, consumers and physicians "can see some of what Monsanto was actually engaging in behind the scenes, and how they have manipulated the scientific literature to date. That’s important to their decision-making, not just our lawsuits."

Plaintiffs’ lawyers said in another filing made public Tuesday that Monsanto’s toxicology manager and his boss, Bill Heydens, were ghost writers for two of the reports, including one from 2000, that Rowland’s committee relied on in part to reach its conclusion that glyphosate shouldn’t be classified as carcinogenic.

“A less expensive/more palatable approach” is to rely on experts only for some areas of contention, while “we ghost-write the Exposure Tox & Genetox sections,” Heydens wrote to a colleague.

An official for the Russian Interior Ministry has reportedly been shot and killed in Moscow, which would make him the eleventh prominent Russian to die under suspicious circumstances since the beginning of Donald Trump’s Russia scandal. Radio Free Europe is reporting that the Interfax news agency believes Nikolai Volkov was just murdered. Russian state police are labeling it a robbery, but they have a history of falsely blaming political murders on non-political circumstances.

Volkov worked for Vladimir Putin but is not known to have any ties to Donald Trump. However his murder stands out in that ten other prominent Russians have died since the Trump-Russia scandal began. Volkov’s death comes just five days after the murder of a fellow Russian political figure, Denis Voronenkov, who had fled to Ukraine (link) and who would have been a star witness if Ukraine succeeds in its attempt at putting former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort on trial for his role in propping up Kremlin puppet Viktor Yanukovych.

Jared Kushner flew to Aspen same day as ‘one of Putin’s closest confidants’ whose wife is pals with Ivanka


Flight logs show that President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, travelled to Aspen, Colorado on the same day as a Russian oligarch with strong ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

As the president’s push for health care reform went down in flames last week, Kushner and his family were reportedly skiing in Aspen. Trump was said to be unhappy about the timing of the vacation.
Photojournalist Eric Rosenwald examined flight logs from airports in the area and found that Kushner arrived in Aspen on Saturday, March 18 — the same day as Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, who has been described as “one of Putin’s closest confidants.” Abramovich is known to own a home in Aspen.

According to Politico’s Jake Sherman, Abramovich’s wife, Dasha Zhukova, attended President Trump’s inauguration as a guest of Ivanka Trump.

The protests were organized by Alexei Navalny, one of Russia’s most prominent critics of President Vladimir Putin. Earlier this month, he accused Medvedev of taking bribes and using them to purchase assets.
During the protests, certain trends among the participants began to appear.


The protests were noted for the number of young people who came out for demonstrations across the country.
Many people brought ducks with them — this was a reference to an old video made by Navalny, in which he used a drone to show that Medvedev’s home includes a separate house in the middle of a lake, specifically for ducks.

Others brought along pairs of trainers — this was because Navalny credits noticing the prime minister’s trainers as what sparked his investigation

Principal Kira Gribanovskaya drops some truth bombs on her foolish pupils.
At a school outside Bryansk, about 350 miles southwest of Moscow, the principal sat down last week with a class of students to talk about anti-corruption activist and opposition leader Alexey Navalny.

Why the sudden heart-to-heart? Police had just grabbed Maxim Losyev, one of the school’s students, straight out of the classroom for urging classmates to attend an unsanctioned demonstration on March 26 calling for an investigation into corruption allegations against Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Losyev also created a student group in support of Alexey Navalny, whose Anti-Corruption Foundation published an investigation earlier this month accusing Medvedev of masterminding a vast and illicit private empire.

In an effort to prevent further activism, the school’s principal — reportedly a woman named Kira Petrovna Gribanovskaya, referring to herself in the third person — discouraged the class from supporting Navalny, and even questioned the room’s intelligence and patriotism, when students challenged her assertion that Russia is in the middle of a “civil war.”

One of the students recorded the meeting with Gribanovskaya, and leaked the footage on social media. This weekend, the news site Meduza transcribed the nine-minute encounter. You can read the Russian transcript here, and listen to the Russian audio below.

He says, “No to corruption” and so on. But what specific actions does he propose? Assemble for a protest? Tell [Medvedev] what a jerk he is?

Student 1: He just wants answers. He filmed a video about Medvedev, and he wants answers from the authorities.

Principal: And so what?

Student 1: And the authorities are silent.

Principal: No, hold on. If you film a video about Kira Petrovna, and write about how she’s this way and that way, how she’s not doing her job, and how there are cockroaches running around all over the school, and you come out to protest, demanding answers — do you think I’ll come out to have a conversation with you?

Student 2: No.

Principal: And he [Medvedev] won’t, either! It’s a joke! A political platform is about concrete actions: strengthening the economy, developing various plans. What Navalny is doing is a pure provocation. Do you get it? You still don’t understand this. I’ll tell you this straight: right now, our economic situation is very unstable. It’s an economic pit. And why’s all this happening? You’ve taken social studies and all that. You know that we’re basically living under an economic blockade in this country. But I want to hear what you think. What’s going on right now?

Student 2: A crisis.

Principal: And what’s causing this crisis?
