Krispy Kreme Apologizes For British "Krispy Kreme Klub" Mishap

Krispy Kreme apologized after a store in the United Kingdom advertised a promotion for customers called KKK Wednesday, which was to be held this week.

"We do believe this was a completely unintentional oversight on the part of our longtime franchise partners in the U.K.," according to a statement shared with USA TODAY Network by company spokesperson Lafeea Watson.

KKK, which in this case was intended to stand for "Krispy Kreme Klub," is, of course, more infamously associated with the Ku Klux Klan, a white supremacist hate group.

Dumb Criminals: Refridgerator Thrown At Cops While Tractor-Trailer Leads Them On 34 Mile Chase

BELLE VERNON, Pa. (AP) — A tractor-trailer driver threw items from his cab at police — including socks, shoes and a small refrigerator — as he led them on a 34-mile chase in western Pennsylvania, authorities said Sunday.

Police in Westmoreland County said a man called emergency dispatchers just before 2 a.m. Saturday and said he planned to wreck his truck. State troopers tried to stop the vehicle near Washington Township but the driver disregarded the emergency lights and sirens, and a pursuit began along Route 70 and later the Pennsylvania Turnpike, police said.

"During the pursuit, the driver threw numerous items at pursuing troopers from the cab" including a steel canister that struck a Greensburg state police unit and disabled it, police said. The driver also threw a mini refrigerator before the truck was stopped with spike strips shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday.

Business Savvy Girl Scout Does Brisk Business In San Francisco Because... Location

A business-savvy Girl Scout who sets up shop outside a cannabis clinic to rev up her sales skills.

Thirteen-year-old Girl Scout Danielle Lei did brisk business last Monday selling Dulce de Leches and other flavors outside The Green Cross medical marijuana clinic in San Francisco, Mashable reported.

Danielle was able to sell 117 boxes within two hours outside the cannabis clinic -- 37 more than what she sold within the same time frame at a local Safeway the next day, according to Mashable.

"It's no secret that cannabis is an appetite stimulant -- so it's not shocking that a lot of our patients came and purchased cannabis, and then saw the cookies and purchased them," said Holli Bert, a spokesperson for The Green Cross. "But it wasn't just patients, staff members and neighbors also bought the cookies. I personally bought five boxes. It turned out to be a big success."

Dumb Criminals: Seattle Theif Gets Stuck In Air Vent To Avoid Cops, Calls Cops For Help

SEATTLE (Reuters) - A Seattle burglary suspect who tried to evade capture by crawling inside an apartment building's ventilation ducts got stuck and had to be rescued by authorities, police said on Wednesday.

Residents in a downtown Seattle apartment building called police on Monday evening to report hearing what sounded like a person "destroying washing machines" with a pry bar in a laundry room, the Seattle Police Department said in a statement.

The suspect, who police said had dozens of $1 bills and $22.65 in change on him, likely taken from vending and washing machines, hid behind the appliances as residents came in to do laundry and then moved a vending machine to block the entrance to the room.

He then burrowed out of the communal laundry room through a wall and into an adjacent storage area. Following the trail, police entered the storage room but found only blood and broken glass and a small opening that led to air ducts, the statement said.

Charles Manson Announces Separation From Fiancee For Truly Bizarre Reason

And no not because he's Charles Manson:

The wedding between 80-year-old Charles Manson and 27-year-old Afton Elaine Burton, aka “Star,” was going to be the social event of the prison-wedding season. Sadly, the nuptials have been cancelled.

It’s the same old story – elderly lunatic serial killer meets young, attractive girl. Girl plots to marry elderly lunatic serial killer so she can turn his body into a tourist attraction when he dies, elderly lunatic serial killer doesn’t much care for that plan. We’ve all seen the movie.

Journalist Daniel Simone discovered Star’s plan “lay out Manson’s remains in a glass crypt” and reported on their break up.

Dumb Criminals: Pittsburgh Man Fleeing Assault Charges Foiled By Own Selfie

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Police caught up to a man trying to flee assault charges because he posted a selfie on Facebook while sitting on a Greyhound bus out of town, a police chief said Tuesday.

"We like it when dumb criminals assist us in our investigation," Ambridge police Chief James Mann told the Beaver County Times, which first reported the arrest.

Mann told The Associated Press that the suspect, 22-year-old Donald Harrison, had been living in the borough about 20 miles northwest of Pittsburgh when he was charged with assaulting a woman and refusing to let her leave her apartment after an argument on Jan. 24.

Dumb Criminals: Florida Man Pees Off Balcony And Onto Waitress

In the classic comedy "Airplane!," the character Ted Striker knew he had a drinking problem when he was no longer able to get liquid to his mouth.

Key West food runner Orion B. Jones' moment of clarity came after he urinated on a waitress from a night-club balcony early Saturday morning.

Jones, 20, was arrested after a foot chase on Duval Street, where he was stun-gunned twice before Key West police officers were able to cuff him.

Around 2:20 a.m., the officers were called to the Crows Nest, one of eight bars in the Rick's and Durty Harry's nightclub on Duval. The waitress was talking with a customer when she began feeling something wet on her body, Officer Curtis Richardson wrote in his report.

The waitress first thought it was raining until a colleague pointed to Jones and said "he is peeing on you."

Nightclub security was called and bouncers chased Jones throughout the complex. When cops arrived, the bouncers and Jones were fighting on the ground.

Really Dumb Criminals: Ohio Man Fleeing Traffic Stop Drives Right Into Prison Parking Lot

A man who took Toledo police on a brief pursuit drove himself right into the parking lot of the Toledo Correctional Institution.

Jason Davis, 33, of Monroe, is charged in Toledo Municipal Court with two counts of vandalism of government property, failure to comply, possession of drugs, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, drug paraphernalia, failure to stop at a stop sign, and not using a turn signal.

Police reported that a marked unit tried to stop a car at Ash Street and Stickney Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. today. Instead of stopping, the vehicle sped away and eventually went into the prison's parking lot off of Central Avenue, ramming through a gate.
