****WCGreen Update --Monday June 30, 2014****

From his sister Amy, the Nurse Practitioner:

Spoke with Chris yesterday regarding his permission to update. He said it would be fine for you to relay the fact that he is making progress, slow as it may be. He is participating with physical therapy and is still in the hospital.

He appreciates everyone's good thoughts!

A couple of days ago, I was able to visit the Upper Antelope Valley in AZ...photo heavy!

It's a slot canyon, where the rain and flash floods have penetrated the sandstone. The water has carved out these amazing shapes. I hope you'll enjoy my pictures!

Today, I got to see the Upper Antelope Canyon, which is the most beautiful place I have ever seen.

It is most definitely worth a trip. I had seen the pictures before, but had never figured out where they'd been taken, until a friend of mine, along with his girlfriend, went last year.

When he showed me his pictures, well............I decided then and there that this was a place I had to get to. So here we go...

The Meteor Crater, Arizona:

My husband and I are making a little road trip, and this was on the agenda.

It's very interesting, and huge.

Behold:

From the parking lot:

Inside:

A piece of the meteor that survived the impact. It weighs about 1400 pounds, which is a little less than a Prius:

A view of the crater: About 20 football stadiums can fit inside...

Another view:

This shows where the original explorer dug several shafts as he looked in vain for the meteorite he thought would be buried underneath the crater:

A last look across the crater:

Well, WCGreen had a good day today...Have a look:

The music therapist came by, and she played her guitar, and her keyboard (not simultaneously!) and we all sang or used a musical instrument of some sort.

Chris had a couple of small egg-shaped things you shake...rattles? I guess, and he really was grooving to the music.

The prognosis is still grim, but we are carrying on. Nobody knows just what to think.

He did give me permission to post these...

Being his usual sardonic self:

Chris and his wife Laurie:

Chris and yours truly:
