CNN: Trump ending Michelle Obama's girls education program

President Trump plans to end ‘Let Girls Learn,’ former first lady Michelle Obama’s girls education program, according to a Monday CNN report.
"Moving forward, we will not continue to use the Let Girls Learn brand or maintain a stand-alone program,” an email from Peace Corps acting director Sheila Crowley to employees reportedly reads.

The Trump administration gave order to cease the program’s operation immediately, according to an internal document obtained by CNN.

The Obamas started the program in 2015. It aimed to increase educational opportunities for young girls in developing countries.

There is nothing with the name Obama linked to it that Trump won't try to destroy. Despicable.

Excellent Tavis Smiley interview with author Jane Mayer.

She is the author of the book “Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right”. Video and transcript here:

I caught this last night. Very good information about the Koch brothers and how they manipulate the media.

As Trump Inquiries Flood Ethics Office, Director Looks To House For Action

Office of Government Ethics Director Walter Shaub Jr. is calling on the chairman of House Oversight Committee to become more engaged in overseeing ethics questions in the Trump administration.

In an interview with NPR on Monday, Shaub said public inquiries and complaints involving Trump administration conflicts of interest and ethics have been inundating his tiny agency, which has only advisory power.

"We've even had a couple days where the volume was so huge it filled up the voicemail box, and we couldn't clear the calls as fast as they were coming in," Shaub said. His office is scrambling to keep pace with the workload.

But while citizens, journalists and Democratic lawmakers are pushing for investigations, Shaub suggested a similar level of energy is not coming from the House Oversight Committee, which has the power to investigate ethics questions, particularly those being raised now about reported secret ethics waivers for former lobbyists serving in the Trump administration.

There is an interesting graphic at the link showing the rate of increase in inquiries since the election.

"Love Letters" by Ketty Lester.

I hadn't heard this one in years until they played it the other night on "Call the Midwife". Enjoy.

Question about freezing pasta dishes.

I want to make a big batch of stuffed shells (filled with Italian sausage, ricotta and spinach), make them up in meal sized disposable pans and freeze for future meals. I figure I have two options.

1. Bake the completed dish before freezing and then thaw and reheat.

2. Assemble the dish and freeze, then thaw and bake when I'm ready to eat it.

Does anyone have any experience with this and which method do you think would work best?
