A former Trump administration official tells me that during budget negotiations with Congress, WH officials would tell lawmakers BEFORE they met w/ Trump that no matter what Trump said, the WH would NOT commit to the deals Trump made. It was to thwart Trump's in the room deals.
If all of this coming out is true, when will Congress act?

Levi Strauss joins up with gun control group: 'Americans shouldn't have to live in fear'
Jeans giant Levi Strauss has announced it will begin to campaign for tighter gun control.
The firm could not “stand by silently when it comes to issues that threaten the very fabric of the communities where we live and work," the firm's president and chief executive, Chip Bergh said.
"Americans "shouldn’t have to live in fear of gun violence," he wrote on the Fortune website, adding that “while taking a stand can be unpopular with some, doing nothing is no longer an option”.
New study shows US ‘gun owners are more politically active’
He said: “The stakes could not be higher. On an average day, 96 Americans are killed by guns, and hundreds more are wounded. Most are suicides or unintentional shootings. Our nation’s gun homicide rate is more than 25 times the average rate of other high-income countries.”

Private prison company moves annual conference to Trump-owned golf resort
A private prison company has moved its annual conference to a golf resort owned by Donald Trump in an apparent bid to show its desire to align with the US President.
Until this year, the GEO Group held its conference at venues near its Boca Raton headquarters, a city on the southeastern coast of Florida.

An investigation into the company's activities found the GEO Group secured the Trump administration's first contract for a detention centre reportedly worth tens of millions of dollars a year.
This comes after the company's spending on lobbying and donations rose sharply during the 2016 election cycle, with nearly half a million dollars donated to Mr Trump's inaugural committee and to a pro-Trump super PAC, an organisation which can raise unlimited funds from individuals and corporations to support a political candidate.
