Largest Manufacturer Of Bump Stocks Will Stop Taking Orders, Shut Down Site
The largest manufacturer of bump stocks, which allow semi-automatic weapons to fire rapidly like automatic firearms, announced Wednesday that it will stop taking orders and shut down its website next month.
The announcement comes about a month after President Donald Trump said his administration would ban bump stocks, which he said turn legal weapons into illegal machines.
<snip>
Slide Fire Solutions, which is based in Moran, Texas, posted a message on its website saying the company will stop taking orders at midnight on May 20. The company provided no other details and did not say why it was shutting down.

The Brady Center for Gun Violence filed a lawsuit against Slide Fire after the Las Vegas mass shooting and alleged that the company provided a product that turned a semi-automatic gun into the functional equivalent of a machine gun, thereby evading longstanding federal law.

I don't usually wish bad things to happen to people, but this would put a smile on my face.

It's 7:30 am and I already have 4 hummingbirds competing for 2 feeders.
It seems like later in the season they are more likely to share, but they are quite competitive in the early spring. They put on quite a show.
I put my feeders up about a week ago and had my first visitor within an hour.

When Dicks Sporting Goods said it would no longer sell modern sporting rifles at its Field & Stream stores following the Valentines Day shooting at a Parkland, Fla., high school, one question was what would happen to the unsold firearms in its inventory.
Typically a retailer may return unsold merchandise to the manufacturer. But in this case, Dicks Sporting Goods has decided to destroy them.
We are in the process of destroying all firearms and accessories that are no longer for sale as a result of our February 28th policy change, a spokeswoman told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. We are destroying the firearms in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations.
The so-called assault-style rifles will be destroyed at the companys distribution centers and the parts sent to a salvage company to be recycled, the Findlay-based retailer added. The company did not say how much merchandise would be included.

THE PRESIDENT IS NOT ABOVE THE LAW
This great nation can tolerate a president who makes mistakes, declared Senator Orrin Hatch, the Utah Republican. But it cannot tolerate one who makes a mistake and then breaks the law to cover it up.
No, Mr. Hatch wasnt talking about Donald Trump. It was 1999, and he was talking about Bill Clinton.
...snip...
Now Mr. Hatch and his fellow lawmakers may be approaching a harsher and more consequential test. We quote his words not to level some sort of accusation of hypocrisy, but to remind us all of what is at stake.
News reports point to a growing possibility that President Trump may act to cripple or shut down an investigation by the nations top law-enforcement agencies into his campaign and administration. Lawmakers need to be preparing now for that possibility because if and when it comes to pass, they will suddenly find themselves on the edge of an abyss, with the Constitution in their hands.
