'We are the 48%': tens of thousands march in London for Europe

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jul/02/march-for-europe-eu-referendum-london-protest
<snip>
The hollow, bitter wit of the banners and placards was a fair indication of who took to the streets of London, in their tens of thousands, on the March for Europe on Saturday, hastily scrambled on Facebook. “And if this isn’t big enough,” said Jonathan Shakhovskoy, who is with a marketing firm in the music industry, “we’ll do it again next week, and the week after. Normalise the mood, make it less ugly.”

“Un-Fuck My Future”, “No Brex Please, We’re British”, they read. Pictures of Whitney Houston with “I Will Always Love EU”, “Europe Innit” and “I wanna be deep inside EU”. “All EU Need is Love”, “Fromage not Farage”, “Eton Mess” and, more seriously, “Science Needs EU”. “Hell no, we won’t go!” they shouted, rounding Piccadilly Circus.

No one was fooling themselves that these were the penitent huddled masses from Ebbw Vale or Sunderland come to beg after all for EU funding; this was a vocal segment of the 48% for whom departure from the EU is a disgrace, a catastrophe or both.

I have an observation

It is beyond misguided to blame some of these attacks on religion - according to reports from everywhere, everyone killed in Bangladesh is linked to the garment industry.

The treatment of workers in Bangladesh including buildings collapsing is often dismissed as the cost of cheap mass produced clothes. Be wary of the self-interested 1% and their interests blaming everything on one religion - although the religion of greed may be the most accurate description yet - greed for power, resources, land and money and greed to show of on us peons everywhere.

Rubio runs into Protesters

http://www.wpbf.com/news/rubio-tours-algae-area/40279850
<snip>
Rubio told reporters that what he saw during his tour was catastrophic and an ecological disaster.

Protesters held signs blaming "big sugar" for the bloom.

Rubio said that if he believed sugar was the only contributor he would do everything to stop it.

He said that before the problem can be fixed, several things need to happen:

-Convincing the Army Corps of Engineers to completely stop the flow of water for a short period of time to flush everything out

- Getting the governor to ask for an emergency declaration from the president

- Getting the CDC to access the long-term health risks

I was watching Serena Williams playing fellow American Christina McHale

and nearly dropped to the ground when I heard the male commentator refer to the American getting the better of Serena.
Serena won 7-6;2-6; 6-4. That's why we need BLM. Serena isn't American enough apparently. Go Serena- we want 22

Hubble captures vivid auroras in Jupiter’s atmosphere - Beautiful!

https://www.spacetelescope.org/news/heic1613/
<snip>

Jupiter, the largest planet in the Solar System, is best known for its colourful storms, the most famous being the Great Red Spot. Now astronomers have focused on another beautiful feature of the planet, using the ultraviolet capabilities of the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope.

The extraordinary vivid glows shown in the new observations are known as auroras [1]. They are created when high energy particles enter a planet’s atmosphere near its magnetic poles and collide with atoms of gas. As well as producing beautiful images, this programme aims to determine how various components of Jupiter’s auroras respond to different conditions in the solar wind, a stream of charged particles ejected from the Sun.

This observation programme is perfectly timed as NASA’s Juno spacecraft is currently in the solar wind near Jupiter and will enter the orbit of the planet in early July 2016. While Hubble is observing and measuring the auroras on Jupiter, Juno is measuring the properties of the solar wind itself; a perfect collaboration between a telescope and a space probe [2].

“These auroras are very dramatic and among the most active I have ever seen”, says Jonathan Nichols from the University of Leicester, UK, and principal investigator of the study. “It almost seems as if Jupiter is throwing a firework party for the imminent arrival of Juno.”

Trump Institute Offered Get-Rich Schemes With Plagiarized Lessons

Rachel is exposing it - Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah - another scam!!
<snip>
But Mr. Trump also lent his name, and his credibility, to a seminar business he did not own, which was branded the Trump Institute. Its operators rented out hotel ballrooms across the country and invited people to pay up to $2,000 to come hear Mr. Trump’s “wealth-creating secrets and strategies.”

And its customers had ample reason to ask whether they, too, had been deceived.

As with Trump University, the Trump Institute promised falsely that its teachers would be handpicked by Mr. Trump. Mr. Trump did little, interviews show, besides appear in an infomercial — one that promised customers access to his vast accumulated knowledge. “I put all of my concepts that have worked so well for me, new and old, into our seminar,” he said in the 2005 video, adding, “I’m teaching what I’ve learned.”

Reality fell far short. In fact, the institute was run by a couple who had run afoul of regulators in dozens of states and had been dogged by accusations of deceptive business practices and fraud for decades. Similar complaints soon emerged about the Trump Institute.

Yet there was an even more fundamental deceit to the business, unreported until now: Extensive portions of the materials that students received after paying their seminar fees, supposedly containing Mr. Trump’s special wisdom, had been plagiarized from an obscure real estate manual published a decade earlier.
