Never enough photos of a beautiful sunset - throwing in a boat full of fishermen

Our time is coming to an end. This was the sunset tonight at the seven mile bridge in Marathon - the middle Keys - in the Florida Keys.

Come with me to Key West - It's hot - but bearable. I had an hour and a half :) today

Took my cousin to the airport. Had a little time to kill. These are a few snaps along the way.

Key West is such a fun / laid back / picturesque/ easy to move in town.
I wish I could give any and all who see this a simple hour and a half to spend there.

Anyone getting to Key West will pass Baby's Coffee. After all, there is only one Road. It is even called US One.

Diversity and acceptance of it are a big deal in Key West - I like this display of it

Have no idea why I uploaded it - I guess I liked it

Reflection of a photo of Pacino as Godfather heir. The rest is Key West environs

Roosters crow where ever we go. They are the symbol and love object of Key West

There is a tree, too hard to depict because of it's size and beauty. It all but totally covers the street in front of the Hemingway house. It's the one shot I got, and it does not do it justice

The sign at the door made me smile

Modest Strategy for action in Syria - as revealed by Andy Borowitz/ even he can't find humor

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Attempting to quell criticism of his proposal for a limited military mission in Syria, President Obama floated a more modest strategy today, saying that any U.S. action in Syria would have “no objective whatsoever.”
“Let me be clear,” he said in an interview on CNN. “Our goal will not be to effect régime change, or alter the balance of power in Syria, or bring the civil war there to an end. We will simply do something random there for one or two days and then leave.”
“I want to reassure our allies and the people of Syria that what we are about to undertake, if we undertake it at all, will have no purpose or goal,” he said. “This is consistent with U.S. foreign policy of the past.”
While Mr. Obama clearly hoped that his proposal of a brief and pointless intervention in Syria would reassure the international community, it immediately drew howls of protest from U.S. allies, who argued that two days was too open-ended a timeframe for such a mission.
That criticism led White House spokesman Jay Carney to brief reporters later in the day, arguing that the President was willing to scale down the U.S. mission to “twenty-four hours, thirty-six tops.”
“It may take twenty-four hours, but it could also take twelve,” Mr. Carney said.
“Maybe we get in there, take a look around, and get out right away. But however long it takes, one thing will not change: this mission will have no point. The President is resolute about that.

Ha! I'm in this one. So naturally I did not take it :)

It's rare that I'm in a picture...

On a boat ride to Pigeon Key a passenger took this of me and emailed it to me later (I had offered to send a specific one to her and then this came back to me )

Come snorkeling with me - it's my first time - so it's a lot of photos

I took my Olympus tough along, and the ride out was rough, family members at first said they would never do this again, and then decided we had actually had a great adventure.

We learned that folks who wanted to have the boat turn and take them back would have to foot the bill for all on board to have that happen, and that some did just that in the past. It's a big boat and the bill can be about 4 grand, they told me.

I'm posting many shots, helter-skelter, just so you can think you really came along. Please stay away from the jelly fish. I couldn't so two of them got me, and I came out of the water sooner than I would have otherwise. It ended up not being a big deal, a few welts, and after a while the stinging ended.
I should have stayed in the water longer

About a large iguana and camouflage and a boat in honor of the upcoming contest

Walked along a large hedge and saw this guy sunning himself thinking I could not see him.

Oh well, he was ever so wrong

Taking his portrait was job one

And showing you the colors of an oncoming little tropical squall was job two

Been busy. Looking after Mom.

For those of you who remember my Mom and me in the Florida Keys - this is the beginning of the 2013 installment.

I've said before that we have a benefactor who lets us use his condo as long as my Mom lives as token of gratitude in re-payment for her and my Dad helping him rise above what his life birth situation might have afforded by lending him books and talking to him about options. It's been going on for about 15 years, a heck of a token if you ask me.

My Mom, 88 and a half now, has had TWO back operations this year and was at death's door. She lived and struggled in order to come to Florida again, and her tenacity allowed it.
She brought along a friend who had the means to do so and who is suffering a growing inoperable brain tumor, age 84.

Today we played dead women in the pool.
Photos are to show you what's possible.
