Maraya1969's JournalThe GOP tax scam has a "person-hood" bit that furthers their attempts at anti-woman and anti-choice
On page 93 of the tax bill Republicans are trying to redefine what constitutes an unborn child as the moment of conception. The tax code is no place to slip in something that could be used to outlaw abortion. A yes vote on this is anti-women & anti-choice.

Placing this language in the bill is a strategic political effort that further highlights an escalating trend and effort to constrain and curtail full reproductive health and rights of American women. [
] The term used in the bill, unborn, is not a medical or scientific distinction, but a political one. Politicians are now seeking to grant the unborn legal rights, but primarily in relation only to women. [
]
Substantively, these efforts not only seek to grant legal rights and identities to embryos and fetuses, but they also seek to frame a conflict of interest between women, endowed with constitutional rights, and an embryo or fetus such that legislators will claim there is no difference in the legal status between a pregnant woman and fetus.
Rethugs are destroying themselves by voting for Roy Moore. I'm OK with that.
This article is a bit long but it describes how Alabama will have such a hard time living this whole Roy Moore thing down and how it will put their party in such jeopardy if he wins. He is kind of like a virus that will make them all sick.
I'm really OK with all of it.

This is a man who has said that homosexuality should be a crime.
This is a man who has said that the state should use "the power of the sword" to keep gay parents from raising children.
This is a man who has said that Islam is not a religion and that the First Amendment does not apply to any religion but his brand of Christianity.
This is a man who has argued that a duly elected congressman should not be allowed to take office because he is a Muslim.
This is a man who's used his nonprofit to put money in his own pocket.
This is a man who said he is more akin than he might have known to Vladimir Putin.
And the list goes on, and gets longer with each passing day.
But one thing is certain: If elected to the the Senate, this is not a man who will disappear until this next election. He will use that new platform to preach his message every opportunity he gets. And cable TV news shows will be more than eager to give it to him, because every time he blathers something hateful or embarrassing, they'll then get to weaponize that and use it against other Republicans running for other offices.
Roy Moore would be poison for the national Republican Party, and I'm tempted to let them drink it.
Cross post from General about Rubio that I hopes gets repeated during his next campaign!
"Many argue that you cant cut taxes because it will drive up the deficit. But we have to do two things. We have to generate economic growth which generates revenue, while reducing spending. That will mean instituting structural changes to Social Security and Medicare for the future, the senator said. "What Rubio said needs to be repeated, repeatedly during his next campaign. He wants to cut SS and Medicare and he is from a state that has one of the highest number of people on SS and Medicare in the country.
There should be no reason he is elected again.
I'm bookmarking. I hope other Floridians do too. And remember it when he runs again.

The far right radical evangelical Christian group
Just wanted to say that. They need a name change.
Just like most Muslims are good people but there are a few who are radicalized and crazy, most Christians are good people but there are a few who a radicalized and crazy.
These are the ones who cause such destruction.
I want to separate them and point them out as a group - from regular Christians
Wikipedia has a list of sex scandals from various times frames. I counted the Republicans
and the Democrats and here is what I got, (for these 2 time frames)
2000 - 2009
Republicans - 12
Democrats - 4
2004 - 2017
Republicans - 11
Democrats - 4
More proof that the Republican party is significantly less moral than the Democratic party. Even, or especially since they call themselves the moral majority

The five people that can sink the tax plan
http://www.newsweek.com/tax-plan-senate-republicans-susan-collins-717301Susan Collins said she wont support any bill that repeals an Obamacare requirement to have health insurance or face a penalty.
---------------------------------------------
Bob Corker, Tennessee ......Corker is a known deficit hawk who wont vote for any tax plan that adds one penny to the deficit, he said.
The Joint Committee on Taxation found that the Senate tax bill would add $1.5 trillion to the national debt,
-------------------------------------------------
Jeff Flake, Arizona
Flake, who also is retiring at the end of his current term, is another deficit hawk.
------------------------------------------
Ron Johnson, Wisconsin
Johnson was the first Republican senator to explicitly come out against the tax plan.
--------------------------------------------------
John McCain, Arizona
McCain voted against President Bushs tax cuts in 2001 and 2003 because he believed they favored the wealthy and would add to the deficit. He still stands behind his decision. The deficit went up, McCain said. Guess what? I was right.
On Friday, McCain applauded the "much-needed tax relief for hardworking American families" but was only supporting the Senates use of regular order while writing and debating the bill. He hasnt indicated whether hell vote for or against it.
