Yup keep laying facts out as often as they go with fiction. You can't fool all people all the time

The essence of Trump-Republicon propaganda is to repeat thousand of smears against someone. Death by a thousand cuts (they hope).

Eventually people don't like the name but are unable to tell you why.

But facts win out in the end. Be sure they get written just as repeatedly.

Factual stories have bones and hang together.

Lies are self-contradictory.

“Trump’s comments are likely to further fuel Democratic calls for impeachment.”
Because Democrats are above the law.

You know damn well there’s a treasure trove of info the WH has where obama was calling on other countries to investigate Republicans, which i’m sure will be released soon.

Sigh. But there WOULD BE a VP. There will not be simultaneous vacancies.

The line of succession is only when everyone above the current designee is out by reason of death, resignation, conviction in the Senate, or incapacity.

There will not be simultaneous vacancies. The Republicon Senate will ensure the timing such that when one position is in peril, the other is securely filled even if that security is only temporary. They will ensure that their party retains control of the office. They will say "But the { sh electoral college sh } voters elected a Republican!"

And tRump and Pence never fly on the same plane.

Mueller was forbidden by Barr from indicting tRump. Fact. Period.

His biggest conclusion, ignored by so many even here, is that tRump could not be cleared of obstruction. To go further would have been against the law which gives people like Barr the ability to set indictment rules. He went right up to the line and very clearly said that was as far as he could legally go and that it is Congress who have the responsibility to take it further (impeachment).

The reason he could not go farther is that if an official of the DoJ (Mueller) states conclusions that a named person can't fight in a court of law (by reason of not being indicted), then the official has violated the rights of that person.

That's why we have a Constitution.

Rights for people we loathe so that our own rights are protected.

Yes. Especially hearings. But take too long and tRump might actually resign.

In some ways tRump needs to be the one rushed. He is more likely to actually be impeached and face trial in the Senate, wherein the Republicon majority can be forced on record. tRump doesn't want to resign, ever. But even he might decide that is better than actually being impeached.

Much depends on the exact evidence and how convincing it is to the American public. After all the spin. tRump has a habit of trying to spin first and very early.

I trust Pelosi and the Democratic Caucus as a whole on the political calculus.

Peril to the Republic seems to urge expedited hearings, but I have long ago decided to be mostly agnostic about what timings to choose for things in L'Affaire Drumpf.

As to your point in the papers you cite, that is NOT the point. Nice straw man.

0) Advocates for legalization readily agree that cannabis is not for developing brains under the age of 18.

1) Realists realize that Prohibition has FAILed to keep pot out of the hands of children.

2) The current laws also FAIL to keep pot out of the hands of adults.

On the other hand, advocates of Continued & Increased Prohibition can point to the terrible demise of Canada as it is foundering in a miasma of Legal Cannabis that is sapping the vital energy of the people, nosediving the economy, with rampant sex in the streets and drugged out zombies breaking into homes just for the thrill of it.

Or not.

Canada had the second highest rate of cannabis consumption before legalization but Canada did not elect tRump or allow him to steal the Electoral College.

tRumpubliCons fighting last ditch rearguard battle. This is it.

We've had black astronauts, an African-American President, and a black Joint Chief of Staff and numerous other examples up and down and far and wide in society of integration of minorities and women and other groups discriminated against. It is a work in progress.

When we win this one, probably in 2020, it won't be the end of racist resistance but it will really be forced back on all fronts.

"Whitey" (term from 1969 heard on the radio today, meaning white bigots) knows this but hasn't thought it out. It (maybe the greater part of tRump's 35% base) also knows it is a minority and knows it is a demographic loser. Even so, without any realistic future vision, it is hoping to delay the inevitable for as long as possible: the loss of old white male privilege, then the loss of white male privilege, then the loss of white privilege.

Between now and February 2021, but especially in November 2020, is the best opportunity in a generation to really put a lid on it and weld it shut.l

A.c.t.u.a.l.l.y, Democrats are offering a lot to appeal to tRump voters if they'd think about it.

Trump voters are bamboozled by labels like the "left", which is why the editorial board of the WSJ uses such labels.

Emphasize the positives of proposals getting hashed out by the Democrats:

* Forgiveness of student debt. Many Trump voters have student debt or children facing such debt.

* Medicare for all. Many tRump voters don't/didn't have insurance or are chained to jobs by needed insurance benefits.

* Tax the rich. Most tRump voters never saw a tangible benefit from the tax heist TrumpubliCons pulled off.

Never deny the label if you are on the left but no need to raise it either. Talk up the accomplishments and especially the platforms of your favorite candidates with tRump voters who might listen or politely pretend to listen, even if rare. Appeal to their self-interests as the way in to make them think a bit.

tRump likes to create distractions so that both sides don't think too much. Make his voters think.
