hedgehog's JournalWas Romney supposed to hold a press conference at 3PM Wednesday?
If so, where did it go?
Question about the flood in Hobocken -
Bear with me on this, please, but -
if the water was from storm surge, wouldn't it have flowed back on its own by now?
Is Hoboken below sea level?
Did a dike or levee fail?
Is the flood water actually due to streams rising due to excessive rain fall?
Maybe instead of a military capable of fighting two wars simultaneously,
we need to start thinking about having a FEMA able to handle two disasters simultaneously!
How many here are aware the Hawaii ducked a big one this weekend when a tsunami wave did no damage?

The Red Cross, Romney and the Youngstown soup kitchen -
The Youngstown St. Vincent De Paul soup kitchen lost donations when it was perceived as embarrassing Ryan. The Red Cross is probably getting worried right about now!
Anyone see any good predictions for those of us along the Great Lakes?
I'm thinking there are no good models for what's going to happen. At the same time, the focus has been on where the greatest number of people are along the East Coast. I suspect we're in for some really strange stuff up here near Lake Ontario.
I think Halloween is a better measure of generosity than Christmas -
At Christmas, you generally exchange gifts of about the same value. At Halloween, you are expected to hand out candy to whomever rings your doorbell. That person may be the neighbor's cute 2 year old, some middle school kids from across the tracks or even some teenagers. I can't believe the annual complaints I hear from the nice people who live on the better side of our small town when kids from the country or across town show up at their door.
I can understand limiting trick or treat to say, 6PM-8PM. Complaining about spending $25 rather than $10 seems over the top for people who spend lavishly on several annual vacations! I'm not talking about people who have to watch every penny but about people who have the cash to spend.
"Due to the impending storm, the Governor’s conference on Emergency Preparedness
scheduled for October 29-30 in Albany is being postponed."

Will an Obama victory mean an end to the Electoral College?
After all, the 22nd amendment was passed by Republicans determined never again to face a colossus like Roosevelt!
A tropical storm in Lake Onatario in November?
