State Court in New Hampshire Blocks Proof of Residency Law Aimed at Curbing Student Voting

The court’s opinion finding the law likely unconstitutional is here. The court gave no credit to the state’s unsupported claim that the law was necessary to prevent voter fraud or instill public confidence.

Despite the proximity to the election, the court enjoined the law’s use in November.

Texas voter registration question

I am covering calls from several campaigns in my county. A candidate's mom just called and one of their intern's voter registration says that it is not effective until Nov. 1. Texas is strange and you have to be registered 30 days before you can cast a ballot. October 9 was the cut off if you were going to vote on election day. Here, the intern's registration was processed around Sept 30 and so the intern can vote on Nov 1 which is still an early voting day
