Mad_Machine76's JournalWas there even this much news back during the "W" years
outside of the period of time surrounding 9/11?
Clinton years (when there wasn't some manufactured right-wing "Clinton scandal" anyway)? Bush I years? News seemed almost boring by comparison back during those halcyon days.
I feel liked we've lived four years in just the past year. I think we need to start redefining units of time in terms of "Trump Time".
I sometimes wonder
if they aren't at least a little sad that they don't have Hillary Clinton as POTUS to knock around for 4-8 years and have to desperately think of new ways every hour of every day to defend or distract their followers from the flaming dumpster fire that IS in the WH. Of course, it sounds like it doesn't matter. They're doing it anyway.
Never Trumpers are allies of convenience only
They've all said and written horrible things about the Clintons, Obama, Democrats, progressives, etc. over the years that are difficult, if not impossible, to overlook so as to be able to embrace them now. If a more "conventional" Republican had been elected instead of Trump (i.e. Jeb), they'd be singing their praises and enabling their policies (which, in most cases, would be similar, just not with all of Trump's bombast) and attacking Democrats. If and when a more "conventional" Republican (or conservative) candidate gets elected in the future, they will return to form. They are anti-TRUMP, not anti-GOP.
My question is:
Why does it matter either way? If there were potential crimes found while in the process of creating the memo, they would have still been obligated to report it to authorities. Am I missing something?
Arent they worried
about assault weapons threatening the lives of women carrying fetuses?
LIHOP and MIHOP
depend on them KNOWING first. If they held no senior intel staff meetings and didn't have the information, then they couldn't LIHOP or MIHOP. My whole theory is that they were too focused on carving up Iraq's oilfields and returning to Reagan-era military programs (i.e. "Star Wars" to be focused on Al-Queda as a security/intelligence concern, especially because they considered Clinton to have been obsessed with OBL and they were equally obsessed with doing the opposite of anything Clinton did/was doing before they took office. IMHO they simply got caught with their very expensive pants down on 09/11/01- for which they suffered no political or criminal consequences (W's poll numbers shot sky high) and, as you put it, exploited to the max.
What have our "right-wing friends" contributed to the debate?
What have they contributed to the "solution" other than preventing new gun regulations from being adopted by electing politicians over and over again whom instead repeatedly LOOSEN current gun laws and facilitate the distribution of more guns to more people in more and more places with fewer and fewer safeguards.
At some point, we have to admit that they are part of the problem if they are not part of the solution.
I don't get it
Trump is an ongoing flaming dumpster fire that is only getting worse, Congressional Republicans haven't accomplished much other than massive(ly) unpopular 1.5T tax cut that is geared towards the wealthy and are still pushing unpopular policies, Democrats are cleaning up in special elections in previously hardcore Trump/GOP bastions, and lots of GOP Congressmen and Senators are retiring after this year. Doesn't seem like a recipe for success in 2018 midterms to me.
Do I have this right:
Former President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, financier George Soros, Robert Mueller, and a hidden bevy of rogue FBI, CIA, and other government agents are masterminding this sprawling "Deep State" conspiracy in order to attack, undermine, and, ultimately, to destroy President Trump and the Republican Party- but they somehow, despite all of their sinister Machiavellian dealings, they could NOT prevent Trump from becoming President in the first place?
