Mad_Machine76's JournalI guess that some of them think that what Romney plans on doing
won't affect THEM? Either that or they just feel more *comfortable* with a WASP self-professed "job creator"?
Who the hell does Wolf think is in charge of our military?
Is he actually (trying to) suggest that President Obama isn't the Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces (which was CLEARLY understood when GWB was POTUS, esp. after 9/11) and that the raid to get OBL was a rogue operation or basically something that President Obama and his national security team just punted over to McCraven and his team?
What a tool.
Don't forget how he has been on a "spending binge"
and they say he is (simultaneously) a unrepentant "socialist" AND a "crony capitalist". Oh, and a radical anti-American Muslim who also has a radical (former) Christian pastor! The cognitive dissonance- and the effort it must take to maintain their sanity in the face thereof- must be staggering.
He is a "uniter"
the exact same way GWB was
Which is NOT a good thing (for him- and us- if heaven forbid he becomes POTUS).
"Explain how that would be different from what George W. Bush tried to push through? "
Ummmm, George W. Bush and his rubberstamp....er....Republican Congress DID push all those kinds of things through and what they didn't push through, he achieved by putting industry cronies in all of the major regulatory agencies to sit on their hands and let corporations do pretty much whatever they wanted for 8 years........and WHERE did we all end up by 2008-2009?
Please sir.........may I/we have some more?
Will President Obama have to send Hillary on a special diplomatic mission
to repair international relations with all of the countries Mitt visits after it's over?
Shall I suggest a pre-emptive *chuckle* at how disastrous this foreign trip is turning out for him?
A rather sensible idea from a Republican (for once)
Rob Portman Unveils End Government Shutdowns Act

However, I have an even better one (and it will help with GOP obstructionism in the Senate as well): JUST DON'T PUT REPUBLICANS IN CHARGE OF ANYTHING IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! Anybody noticed that government shutdown threats and debt ceiling default threats don't ever happen whenever the Democrats are in charge of Congress yet? At least since 1995/1996, they *mysteriously* happen whenever Republicans are in charge of one or both Houses of Congress and we have a Democratic POTUS? Curious, isn't it? This is NOT how our government is supposed to operate- at least so I thought! Congresses come and go and some or Democratic-controlled and some are Republican-controlled but the Federal Government (unless you simply believe in anarchy and chaos) needs to be operating 24-7-365 to deliver vital services and, um, protect us (something that the Republicans never hesitate to remind us of, particularly whenever there's more defense contractors lining up at the trough and/or whenever they want to do another war).
Or maybe, too, Portman and his GOP colleagues should just, oh I don't know, DO THEIR JOBS AND STOP SENATE BUSINESS AND STOP THREATENING TO SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT EVERY FIVE SECONDS????? Not only is that possible but it doesn't even REQUIRE any legislation.
Fruitcake
I think that, when people say stuff like that, they are either:
1. Stupid
2. (in) Denial
My guess is that this might be somebody who doesn't like President Obama and doesn't want him to win being forced to confront the reality that, all things considered, President Obama is polling very well right now and her brain isn't sure how to reconcile these numbers with the right-wing spin that tells her that President Obama is doomed to lose to Mitt Romney in November. So, in response, she desperately spins the story like a top to find a dark cloud of bad news to grasp on to (in order to keep her head from exploding).

For the record, I'd like to see them try this right before the election................
