ARLEN SPECTER has been hospitalized with a serious illness, friends of the former longtime U.S. senator have confirmed. One Specter friend asked people to keep him in thoughts and prayers.

Specter, 82, announced in 2005 that he had Hodgkin's disease, for which he underwent chemotherapy. He was treated again in 2008, after the disease returned.

Friends declined to comment Monday afternoon on the nature of Specter's hospitalization.

Specter had been scheduled to appear as a surprise guest at last Wednesday's Stu Bykofsky Candidates Comedy Night, but his secretary canceled his long-booked appearance several days earlier, Bykofsky confirms, adding that Specter's assistant referred to the cancellation as "personal."

When is the last time this country faced a threat from anarchists? When Patti Hearst was kidnapped and when that judge was killed outside his courtroom, both by the SLA? Those 'folks' as the former pResident used to call them, we're hunted down and basically eradicated like the Anopheles mosquitoes that they were. I for one have not heard too much from the Anarchist wing of the population lately.

Now knowing these Rethugs as we do, it is much more likely that what they really meant to imply to the masseswhoareasses group was "Antichrist", since they can't help but intertwine politics and religion into a Gordian knot. The idiots certainly don't distinguish the difference. It is a form of Rethug punnery.

New poll shows Obama with a significant lead over Romney in Pennsylvania

Ten weeks before the election, a voter poll commissioned by The Inquirer finds President Obama leading Republican rival Mitt Romney by a significant margin in Pennsylvania, raising the question of whether the Keystone State is up for grabs on Nov. 6.

The Inquirer Pennsylvania Poll, led by a bipartisan team of top political analysts, concluded that if the election were held now, Obama would win the state by nine percentage points - 51-42 - with 7 percent of voters undecided.

The telephone survey of 601 likely voters, conducted from Tuesday through Thursday, had a statistical margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent. The results are comparable to those of other recent polls, including one released Thursday by Muhlenberg College, which also found Obama leading by nine points in the state.

Jeffrey Plaut of Global Strategy Group, a Democratic polling firm, said the results may indicate Pennsylvania has lost some of its "swingy-ness." He said Friday that Democrats would have to fail to turn out their base voters to "put the state in play."

Screw them and their "New Low" Horseshit...

Once again, these Rethug idjit, tinhorn-fascist types have stated that Biden's remark is a "new low". Ya know, this is the one of those "storm of the century" lines which come out of weathercasters every, oh 3 days or so. The intent of course, is to paint the President's Campaign (yes, I do capitalize words when they have to do with our President) as vitriolic, smear-based, and vile. They of course and of curse should frigging KNOW what a LOW campaign is, what with Willie Horton, lying about everything Al Gore did and didn't do, smearing President Clinton and the Presidency for being on the receiving end of a blowjob, and the pure out and out racist attacks upon our Present President being just a FEW of the examples which come to mind. There are THOUSANDS more, but my "favorite" one was the attack upon a Senator who had lost three limbs while serving his country. That was the MOST DESPICABLE MOMENT OF MY POLITICAL LIFE, worse than anything else because if they could and would do that to HIM, then they would do MUCH MUCH WORSE to ANYONE AND EVERYONE ELSE. And mark my words, they're gonna try...

These bastards have no idea how "LOW" we can go if we want to: we're more creative, wittier, and positively demonic when we want to be and I want to be, so if they want a fight, I think we can take it to them and give more than we get.
