What you now have is a nightmare to end all nightmares and despite many protestations of Israel and her "violations", wait until you get a load of what's coming to a country near her.
I wish there were an emoticon for "headshaking", because...well, just because.
Now go ahead and tell me all about how this is gonna work out for egalitarianism, freedom, democracy, human rights, a fair and impartial judiciary, and all the rest of that which comes with what has occurred and is occurring there.
I know EXACTLY why the Rethugs have pulled this Rice business...

They are trying to forestall and divert from the TRUTH...and you know what? The truth will set you free, but first it will make you very miserable.

this whole business with Ambassador Rice is surrealistic. And Bizarre. And pathological.
I don't know where this is all going to end...and I mean ALL of this, not just the issue with the Ambassador.

For the young'uns here, Raymond Massey was an actor who was in some great films and TeeVee including Things To Come about the post-apocalyptic world after WWII shot in the mid-Thirties! Also, he was Dr. Kildare's humanistic chief of staff in his hospital. This was a clever attempt to change people's feelings that Goldwater was a warmonger.
This may have been the original "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not gonna take it any more". Great viewing, dangerous candidate.

I personally enjoy these many references to Barry Goldwater...
I recall well the campaign in 1964 and many of the issues discussed in the days of the Cold War, including world-wide annihilation.
But one memory stands alone: President Johnson's campaign had had signs made, large wooden signs
with a picture of Johnson which were nailed onto telephone poles- now known as utility poles - and they stated: LBJ for the USA
Goldwater operatives made up wooden signs which coved over a portion of the sign so it read: LBJ for Moral Decay.
This was a direct affront to the Civil Rights crusaders.
Oh yes, and one more thing, actually two more things:
MAD Magazine had a cartoon of an ad for an all-purpose weapon which could be used to savage cities. The demo model was held by a likeness of Goldwater.
Our line was "Barry G. For World War Three"

I used to watch I Dream of Jeannie with my Mom of blessed memory...
She thought is was dopey, kind of funny fluff, but she told me in no uncertain terms that I was not to act like the Larry Hagman character, running away from women, particularly a beautiful, devoted, kind, generous woman like Jeannie. She told me that acting like a schlemiel was not attractive or reasonable and that if someone's interested, that i should pursue it if I were interested. The word was a good euphemism I suppose.
It was funny/strange to be raised in a household without my dad present, and to have my mother tell me this stuff. Sh came upon a cartoon in Playboy somehow and cut it out for me. It was of a kid sitting on a stoop and a pretty girl is walking past with a halter top and short shorts. His mother is standing behind him speaking and the caption reads, "Whistle, you idiot!"
I still have it somewhere...

reads on the surface like a dainty process for ensuring the smooth transition from one fine man to the next...typical "fine" journalism, wherein no one bothers to ask a follow-up question, like "What was the political thrust of the work completed?"
The sentence I found fascinating was that which described the fact that they had already written Executive Orders. We can only imagine what these orders would have meant to the average woman and man in these United States. My guess, no, my assertion, is that they included removal of many of the linchpins of the Federal Government's scaffolding which keeps us free, healthy, in control of our own lives to the extent that we still are, and able to pursue what ever we wish, again, to the same extent that we already can.
This guy was a grave danger to Liberty, make no mistake about it. His blank slate, his Etch-A-Sketch mentality and ability to lie at will, to insult at will, to denigrate at will and to destroy at will all in the name of his God: no not THAT God, the other one, the one with the picture of Benjamin Franklin on it. I firmly believe that now that he has been relegated to the Rethug Dustbin by his own Rethug Party, for crying out loud, we will begin to hear tales of his mental incapacities which I and many others have sensed all along. This was a disgraceful candidate who ran a disgraceful race, unbecoming and offensive to anyone who had a shred of decency or common sense. On top of all my emotions concerning this election, I am just perplexed. The only rationale I can envision for running a campaign in the fashion in which he did is that he knew, or thought he knew, that it was a rigged game, and he really didn't count on losing, not because he was confident in himself, but because he was told that it was in the bag. The last time I heard about something like this was the tale that when Nixon went down to the Pepsi shareholders' meeting in Dallas, Texas in November of 1963, he was approached to run for the Presidency again. He demurred, stating that the Kennedys had a stranglehold on the White House for years to come, and he was met with the reply, paraphrased, that "things can change in that regard." Apocryphal? Maybe. The truth? Quite. Romney had the same assurances - he did not assume that all by his lonesome, in my humble opinion.
All right this has been staring everyone in the face for weeks now
And I don't believe I have read anything about it...
ORCA as we all know now, was the name of the program run by the Rmoney campaign for their GOTV targeting and whatever. Many have alluded to the possibility that it was part of the attempted hijacking of the electoral process.
Well, yeah...they didn't name the process "sunfish" or "guppy" now did they? They named their nefarious program after a killer whale who is an "apex predator" in the food chain. The is nothing in the sea which is safe from these terrifying beasts, which interestingly, evolved from dolphins (that presumes that you believe in evolution,not necessarily an assumption anymore in these days of benighted Morans) . These creatures hunt almost everything up to large whales, including sea lions and walruses. Although not necessarily a danger to humans, there have been problems in water-themed parks.
The point is that the Rethugs, ever-mindful of wording and slogans, did not disappoint. Had they won, imagine their gloating that their killer whale had devoured the now-insignificant Democrat (sic) Party and all its denizens. That Romney smirk would have been as large as his smirk walking off the stage after he chided the President on the Benghazi affair lo those many weeks ago!
Well, screw 'em...they lost and their ship of state, or shit of state as it were, foundered and sank to the depths of the sea.
However, as in all of those movies, when "The End" title comes on, it is followed by the big "?"...
They'll be back....make no mistake.
