Mooch compares himself to Monica

Disgraced White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said Wednesday that the reporter who published an expletive-filled interview that led to him being fired is “up at night not being able to live with himself.”

Scaramucci—who was ousted from his senior Trump administration job after a little more than a week in July—compared New Yorker reporter Ryan Lizza to Linda Tripp, a former Pentagon employee who figured prominently in the Lewinsky scandal.

“@RyanLizza is the Linda Tripp of 2017. People know. And he is up at night not being able to live with himself,” Scaramucci tweeted Wednesday.

Scaramucci’s analogy places him in the role of former White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

Half of Republicans say they would support postponing the 2020 election if Trump proposed it

Critics of President Trump have repeatedly warned of his potential to undermine American democracy. Among the concerns are his repeated assertions that he would have won the popular vote had 3 to 5 million “illegals” not voted in the 2016 election, a claim echoed by the head of a White House advisory committee on voter fraud.

Claims of large-scale voter fraud are not true, but that has not stopped a substantial number of Republicans from believing them. But how far would Republicans be willing to follow the president to stop what they perceive as rampant fraud? Our recent survey suggests that the answer is quite far: About half of Republicans say they would support postponing the 2020 presidential election until the country can fix this problem.

Neil deGrasse Tyson: 'No reason' for marijuana to be illegal

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, among the most well-known living scientists this side of Stephen Hawking, said this week that "there's no reason for [marijuana] to ever have been made illegal."

The remark came in response to a question submitted by Tom Angell of the pro-legalization group Marijuana Majority. Angell asked Tyson if he agreed with astrophysicist Carl Sagan that marijuana should be legalized.

"If you really analyze it," Tyson said, "relative to other things that are legal, there's no reason for it to ever have been made illegal in the system of laws."

"That is extremely rational, which I expect from you, and you're absolutely right," replied host Chuck Nice.
