n2doc's JournalMedicaid recipients in Kentucky to lose coverage, gain weird rewards accounts instead
Have you ever thought that health insurance paperwork was too straightforward? Do you really love keeping track of your credit card points and customer loyalty card accounts at retailers? Would you prefer that the government do more to tell you how to live a good life?
Then youll love Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevins (R) plan to overhaul Medicaid by cutting benefits, charging low-income recipients for services, and making them jump through hoops to earn health coverage points in new MyRewards Accounts.
From a glance at Bevins proposal, its easy to mistake the MyRewards idea for an expansion of coverage. The changes are described as benefit enhancements in a new, detailed implementation proposal from the consulting firm Deloitte.
Bevins plan is in fact a benefit cut. Kentuckys Medicaid program currently includes vision and dental. If youre eligible for Medicaid in Kentucky, then youre eligible for coverage of regular tooth checkups and eye exams under state law.

Kentucky coal museum switching to solar power
You wouldn't expect a museum dedicated to the coal industry to run on anything other than coal -- but a mining museum in Kentucky is soon to be solar powered.
The Kentucky Coal Mining Museum in Benham, owned by Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College, is switching to solar power to save money. The museum, which memorializes Kentucky's history in coal mining, is modernizing with a new form of cheaper energy.
Communications director Brandon Robinson told CNN affiliate WYMT that the project "will help save at least eight to ten thousand dollars, off the energy costs on this building alone."
Robinson also said that the project was funded through an outside foundation, WYMT reported. The project includes 20 solar panels installed by Bluegrass Solar.

Sean Hannity the Latest Fox News Host to be Accused of Sexual Harassment
Tulsa, OK - Columnist, attorney, and former Fox News contributor Debbie Schlussel appeared on todays Pat Campbell Show and accused Fox News Prime Time Host Sean Hannity of the same type of behavior that lead to Bill OReilly leaving the beleaguered network earlier this week.
Among the allegations, Schlussel claims that while at an appearance in Detroit which they both attended, Hannity invited her back to his hotel room.
Schlussel says that after she turned down his advances, she was not invited back on his program.
This kind of stuff is all over the place at Fox News and anything that has to do with Sean Hannity, Schlussel said.

Ronald Reagans son defends OReilly, asks if men should sue for sexual arousal
Michael Reagan, son of late President Ronald Reagan, defended disgraced Fox News host Bill OReilly, who was ousted this week after advertisers boycotted the show en masse amid a sexual harassment scandal.
The firestorm started after the New York Times revealed that OReilly and the network had shelled out $13 million in settlements to various women who had accused him of sexual harassment.
But in two tweets sent late Thursday evening, Michael Reagan first specifically referenced one of the allegations against OReilly that he called a black woman hot chocolate and leered at her and then suggested that women invite attention by how they dress.
