November 2013: Hottest Global Average Temperature Month Ever Recorded
Land and ocean temperatures around the world soared in November 2013, making it the hottest month since 1880, according to the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Most regions in Africa, Eurasia and South America experienced a warmer-than-usual November along with parts of Southwest Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean, the agency said.
"The combined average temperature over global land and ocean surfaces for November 2013 was record highest for the 134-year period of record, at 0.78°C (1.40°F) above the 20th century average of 12.9°C (55.2°F)," according to the report by NOAA.
However, the U.S. was among a group of few places on earth that had a cooler-than-average November. Along with North America, parts of Greenland and Australia had lower temperatures during last month.
This is the 37th consecutive November that has had higher-than-usual temperature when compared with the 20th century average.

And for all those deniers talking about how cold they are now, maybe they can try and be consistent when they are broiling next summer. But I doubt it.
Astronomers Report the Brightest, Most Distant Supernovae Ever Discovered

Two of the brightest and most distant supernovae ever discovered are estimated to be 10 billion light years away from Earth and a hundred times more luminous than a typical supernova, according to new research that appears in the Astrophysical Journal.
When the extraordinarily distant objects were first discovered in 2006 and 2007, astronomers had no idea what they were as they did not fit into any of the typical astronomical models. This was largely due to their extreme luminosity. Typically supernovae are lit by the energy produced by the death of a giant star or normal neutron star, but these forces were unable to explain how objects so distant could appear so bright.
"At first, we had no idea what these things were, even whether they were supernovae or whether they were in our galaxy or a distant one," said D. Andrew Howell, lead study author and staff scientist at Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network (LCOGT). "I showed the observations at a conference, and everyone was baffled. Nobody guessed they were distant supernovae because it would have made the energies mind-bogglingly large. We thought it was impossible."
Howell and his colleagues report that one of the newfound supernovae, named SNLS-06D4eu, belongs to an emerging class of space objects called superluminous supernovae, of which it is the most distant and most luminous of all known examples.
The two superluminous supernovae detailed in the Astrophysical Journal report have been placed in a special subclass because they have no hydrogen.

"Tea Party Patriot", 46, Charged With Receiving And Distributing Child Pornography
After President Barack Obama posed for a selfie at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service, Tea Party patriot Brian Schwanke raced to his Facebook page to post a story about how Michelle Obama was purportedly infuriated by her husband’s impromptu shoulder-to-shoulder snapshot with Denmark’s fetching Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt.
“What a classy president we have. His wife has to sit between him to make "lil Barry "behave,” wrote Schwanke, whose Facebook page reports that the United States “WAS founded on a CHRISTIAN foundation, and the progressive, atheist left is running us into the ground to create a Socialist country that will fall like all the others.”
But Obama’s self-portrait and the left’s treachery are the least of Schwanke’s troubles these days.
The 46-year-old Michigan resident was named today in a federal criminal complaint charging him with distributing and receiving child pornography. Schwanke, pictured above, allegedly used the e-mail account hornypastor@outlook.com to trade hundreds of revolting photos and videos.
