raja krishnamoorthi

enjoying seeing il rep raja on msnbc lately.
i thought i would point out a tidbit of local history about this guy.

he was an adopted candidate of northside dfa here in chi through both his runs for congress.
this chapter remains active after all these years, and has an awesome track record of electing great dems up and down the ticket, from a skinny kid w a funny name running for the senate and then the presidency, to city hall reformers to congresspeople to senators.
i was active w them for several years, including several roadtrips to iowa.
(juicy tidbit- one of the early leaders was jim ginsberg, son of rgb. this is why i am the proud owner of an annie liebewitz book w a portrait of rgb and sandra day, autographed by both. loves me some silent auctions sometimes.)

so, all y'all resisters out there, all y'all blue wave, take a second to tip your hat to howard dean, and his enduring contributions to the democratic wing of the democratic party.
howard dean STILL speaks for me.
i salute you sir.

cant wait to see kamala and amy question barr.

i have stated that i think that our candidate will be the one who shines in the impeachment.
i stand by that prediction, which is why i like kamala, and only changed to liz when she came out for impeachment.

will barr have the cojones to show up thursday? i like eric swalwell.

whether biden gets the nod or not, i am glad he is in the race.

by the time 11/20 gets here, whether the house dems have beaten deranged donnie to a bloody pulp or not, joe is gonna leave hm gasping for air.

i stand by my opinion that by 2020, spanky is gonna be so bruised and bloody he can be beaten by a cold big mac.

if not, i hear tell i can get an old farm cheap in ireland.

eta- adding from a comment on another post-
joe is the tip of the spear that we have needed.

impeachment- when the people lead, the leaders will follow.

imho, dems are waiting to see people in the streets demanding impeachment.

they are moving pretty much full steam ahead, such steam as there is right now.
once the hearings are on the teevee machine, they will watch the polls and the people, and if they are there, they will move forward, and start calling it impeachment.
tho i believe impeachment is inevitable now, the question is how fast will it happen.

of course, if these criminals continue to blatantly act like criminals, they will tip it themselves.
but it isnt the other party they are waiting for, it's the people.

joe fans- carol mosely braun on joy right now.

her second appearance as a surrogate, to talk specifically about anita hill.

i'l watch for the vid.

April 27, 2019

just saw liz on joy.

will look for the vid to come up, but as she talked about impeachment, i felt like her experience made her a great person to be explaining what is happening now. and what needs to come next.

i think she could easily be the one who rises to the top by how she handles herself in the, now inevitable, impeachment process.
i hope joe comes out swinging on impeachment, too.

calling dale chihully- re notre dame windows.

i had a short engage w someone here about the "lost arts" that created the nd stained glass windows, that the recipes for some colors were lost to time. that they just could not be recreated.
i contended that some artist, somewhere, had either found the records somewhere, gotten enough clues to what the recipes were, or figured it out for themselves.

add on new tech, and some incredibly talented restorers out there, i have no doubt that any ruined windows can be recreated very nearly perfectly.
hell, you can put a tiny bit in a couple of scientific instruments that arent even that new and get a pretty damn accurate starting point.

as exhibit A- i give you dale chihully. he is a modern master of the art of color theory, and glass color chemistry.
at this point in his life, he is passing down his skills and has a whole stable of artists that do most of the grunt work for him. which is to say- a lot like those good old days.
art and science in one package. how you get this shit done.
i vote for him to produce the glass.

change my mind.
