mopinko's Journalblech. carpal tunnel
not the worst thing in the world, but shit.
saw my rheumie today for an overdue recheck. have fibro, asthma, gerd, autoimmune thyroiditis, central apnea. have had persistent trouble with a couple fingers since i had 2 cervical discs herniate. (several years ago) got them fused, but the fingers are still hypersensitive.
the neck still bothers me fairly regularly, and the wrists get sore when they are fatigued. lately waking up with tingling, pain and stiffness.
so, doc wrote an order for splints to sleep with. i suppose they are going to torture me with several ineffective treatments before they do surgery. like always.
sigh. not that big a deal after years of trouble with the fingers. but shit. if i thought for sure he was right, i might not be quite as depressed. but i have as much trouble in my neck as my wrists.
more questions, more tests, more appointments. just when i thought i could live with feeling like shit if i could just stay away from the docs. but they don't give you any pills if you don't see the doc.
will a cracked screen brick my iphone?
it has been cracked for a while. no additional trauma that i know of, but....
just worked one minute, brick the next.

If Illinois legalizes marijuana, how could that affect the economics of the drug trade among gangs?

Siva Iyer from Elmhurt asked: If Illinois legalizes marijuana, how could that affect the economics of the drug trade among gangs? WBEZ reporter Natalie Moore investigates.
Where do you think we should start this investigation? How would you answer this? Comment below!

when is a rape joke not a rape joke?
in a thread about sex offenders slipping their monitors-
Cut loose the non-violent offenders and free up the prisons,....
....for Wall Street types to share cells with these guys.

REASON FOR ALERT:
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.)
YOUR COMMENTS:
rape jokes are never funny.
JURY RESULTS
A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Tue Feb 26, 2013, 09:30 AM, and voted 2-4 to LEAVE IT ALONE.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: I did not see the word rape in this post...I would trade out non-violent offenders for wall street thieves any day!
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT and said: Not funny is correct...love to see some 'Wall Street guys' in jail but don't wish anything like rape to happen to them there.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Seriously - who alerted on this post?
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: I agree that I do not find rape jokes of any kind to be funny. However, that doesn't mean that such jokes are prohibited here. Put the user on ignore, would be my suggestion to the alerter. Voting to leave it alone.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: I don't think this qualifies as a rape joke. I suppose it might have been intended to imply prison rape, but that might just be the allerter's interpretation of an otherwise non-rape-oriented tangential statement.
can we talk about this?
i'm so fucking sick and tired of this life.
so, i am in the middle of a giant pile of work that i knew was too much for me from the get go. i just want to tend my little farm, period.
but for a whole bunch of reasons we ended up buying the 2flat adjacent to the lot. even tho i have 2 very dear friends working for me, i am still working to hard, sweating too many things, and doing too much heavy lifting.
and to top it off i have a cracked rib and a fucked up ankle that i broke last year.
i really only get about 4-5 good hours a day, plus some computer time during which i am thinking clearly. it just seems impossible to keep up with anything.
well, at least the 1st floor apartment is ready to rent, which takes a little heat off. we think we have a tenant for the 2nd floor that can't move until may 1, which is fairly reasonable, tho it needs a lot of work.
when all this started we had finally broken down and started repairs on our falling back porch. we got as far as framing, sheeting and windows, then we had to move over to this other project.
just the mental energy- i am sure i have purchased a couple thousand individual items from the hardware store in the last 4 months. my brain is so sore.
i just want to go to bed. i swear after our open house tomorrow i will sleep for 2 days. if only i could get the chickens and the dogs to do the same.
laptop screen keeps going dim.
2 year old macbook pro. any time i am not actively typing or clicking, the screen starts to dim. probably drops a click or 3. checked the energy saver settings and it's not that. using in plugged in, charge light stays green.
anyone have a clue? time to buy a new one?
