the bad news is
i was late with the neem oil, plus spring was so early, so i have a lot of buggy cherries. the good news is, the chickens think that makes them twice as good.
meet the falcon
it is a new holland L325
hubby named it the falcon. there is a commercial on radio here about a guy using his credit card points for stupid things, he bought a falcon. tee hee.
i had a free loaner, but when the hydraulics sprung a leak i couldn't get the guy to fix it. that is the sort of thing that makes me refuse to be a community garden.
it's not here yet, but it shonuf is paid for.
a bittersweet victory for my baby.
so, a year ago my baby applied for ssi. she was trying to get it for her physical problems (chron's disease, and some pain problems ++), but since the docs couldn't really explain her problems, she was pretty sol.
in the meantime, she had her breakdown and is now dx'd with, among other things, ptsd. (which makes no sense to me, but there you have it.) well, now she qualifies.
it is great that she is getting it, and will help her not only get back in school but help her get some accommodations.
but it is pretty sad for all to think of her as disabled.
i am taking her to the mayo clinic in july. maybe they will have some answers as to what the hell is wrong with her. it is a big, tangled puzzle.
sigh.
is this a scam? found an item on craigslist chicago, seller wants to close deal through ebay
price is quite low, and it would have sold quickly on ebay in the first place. the item and the seller are in north carolina. so i have to do this deal sight unseen, over ebay, even tho it wasn't listed on ebay.
just emailed to ask why he didn't list on ebay in the first place.
want this item, need this item, love this price. guy is hot to sell.
but something smells not right.

Court Approves Boiron Class Action Settlement
A federal court has preliminarily approved a class action lawsuit settlement with Boiron, Inc. that will provide up to $5 million in refunds to consumers who purchased certain Boiron homeopathic products, including Oscillo, Arnicare, Chestal and Coldcalm.
The Boiron settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit, entitled Gallucci v. Boiron, Inc., that alleges Boiron made false claims about the effectiveness of its homeopathic products treatment of ailments such as the flu, arthritis, sore joints, join pain, aches, fever, coughs, insomnia or sleeplessness.
According to the class action lawsuit, the active ingredients in Boirons products are so diluted that they are effectively non-existent, making them nothing more than sugar pills.

wild grapes- blessing or curse?
our lot has an old wild grape that had pretty much eaten about 50' of fence. we did hack it back this winter, but didn't really make up our mind about whether to really root it out or to try to contain it. it isn't really in the way or anything.
there is still a good bit of it there, and yesterday DH came out to find 5 greek ladies picking leaves. he assured them that it was fine. they sadly noted that there used to be a lot more. i think the ladies will survive if we take it out, as it is common around here.
i, personally, have never used the leaves for anything, but i suppose i could learn a few recipes. i don't know what, if anything, the grapes are good for. i tried a couple of the dried ones that were still on the vines. they are tasty, and extremely purple. but they are as much seed as grape.
i could always feed this stuff to the chickens.
so, anybody have a strong opinion about wild grapes?
