The IRS had 120 employees looking at 70,000 501c(4) applications for tax free status.
Many of the applications in question were NOT tea party apps. They were doing their job in a very clumsy way....the GOP shows once again how to hammer the message.
A perfect characterization of the national media flocking to the scene of OK tornado....

My take-a-way from the IRS hearing is that it is mostly bogus. The IRS
had problems, Mr. Miller testified what they did about the problems, and fixed them. The Cincinnati IRS office asked IRS DC for regulation clarification, and waited for answers that didn't come for months and months.
In the meantime, the time-frame in which the Tea organizations 501(c)4 tax free status was being held up was also the time frame of IRS discovery, putting band aids on the process and making changes. Much of which has fallen through the cracks.
Mr. George, IRS Bush appointee said that he did not find any political agenda with IRS employees.
As I said earlier.....Citizens United was the monkey wrench, especially when non profits could apply.
My prediction re " The IRS Scandal". After all the blah blah blah, unturned stones,
dog and pony show of testimony....the last wet leaf in the pile of steaming compost turned over....and whoa la! Confused IRS workers thumbing through Citizen's United and IRS regs trying to figure out what to look for, how to process and whether to table the paper work or pass it on to the next department...

Woke up to a screaming Tweedy Matthews...quickly changed to the classical music channel.
Going to bed with Lawrence and waking up seeing Tweedy on the morning schmooze fest is a shock to my system....
Never has so much been blabbed with so little credibility.........speculation, analyzations, and predictions all trying to get out of one mouth......just yuck....
It does not matter that the community of DU knows the truth...what matters as the GOP
know..is perception....from the beginning of the first Obama presidency...up to this very moment the GOP took charge of perception...thus took charge.
They are the masters of distraction. They do not care nor give any weight to any media who write or talk about the lock step obstructionism of GOP. The GOP marches right through the weak Democratic blockades - McConnell blinks at words of criticism like they were dead fish wrapped up in yesterday's newspaper.
The GOP are relentless, do not care, and are winning the war of perception, maybe not inside of the liberal blogosphere..but they are winning.

I"m depressed because on the ground, at the grassroots, we are fighting GOP at the state level while they chip away at what has been settled law/policies - women's rights union rights worker rights...
The Senate is a mess..why the hell doesn't some tough talking LBJ-like type corner Graham in a dark corner and wave the Aug 6, 2001 President's daily briefing memo titled "BIN LADEN DETERMINED TO ATTACK...." and tell him "you want a fight, let's fight"
I do not want DU rationale reason or intellectual dissertation blah blah blah about why this and why that. The why this and the why that is not working for me..
I think that the extreme GOP gerrymandering might come back to bite
some GOP Congress Critters in the ass.
The GOP Governors who presided over the 2010 re-districting may have unwittingly set the stage for inter-party fighting between the Tea's and the G's. It is what I call "self-cannibalizing".
Actually, it is happening now, I hear the crunching of the bones of old timey GOP reps as they are being eaten by the screaming, crazy Tea's.
