Mail People have such an important job,

who doesn't like the mail.. on the chance it could be something good.

That's a funny story about your dog catching your mail carrier's car and their kind reaction to it.

I just found out something.. I thought our Post Office, closest to me, was closing down. I didn't know it was suppose to be in Dec 2017, though!

It was built in 1939..

Postal Service will keep open historic Kauai post office

Lihue- A historic post office on Kauai will remain open after the U.S. Postal Service reversed a decision to shut it down.
The service had announced its decision to close the Lihue Post Office in December 2017, prompting hundreds of letters and coconuts to be sent to the service in support of keeping the post office open.

The agency planned to close the Rice Street office to consolidate operations at its carrier annex facility next to the Lihue Airport. The consolidation also aimed to solve ongoing parking problems and access issues at the historic building.

“After a thorough review of our options, we decided it would be in the best interest of our customers and the Postal Service not to relocate our retail services from our Rice Street facility,” said spokesman Duke Gonzales.

Kauai County Mayor Derek Kawakami thanked officials for their work in keeping the office open, especially “the people of Kauai who saw the value of maintaining our sense of place and rural character.”

Now if only all our Post Offices will remain open!

Mahalo for telling me all that.. I find it

interesting. After all it is a whole new world that many of us entered into some time in March.

We're really strict here.. no one goes anywhere in a store or on the bus without a mask. It's essential traveling only. There's a $5,000 fine if you break the rules.. the magats wouldn't like it here one bit.

We do get to go out and run or walk everyday without a mask.. just as long as we're alone.

We've had no deaths on Kauai and no new cases for about 3 weeks.. and the ones who had the CV are now recovered. The visitors who come have to be quarantined in their rooms for 2 weeks if they want to do any sight seeing afterwards.

Yes, it is hard to get your head and heart around..

I still post on her FB page.. things I know she'd like. I adopted a Star for her last week in her name.. it's a non profit org, and goes to astronomy research.

I haven't been able to talk about it.. just until recently when I see others who have lost loved ones.

Aloha, Peggysue..

Yes it does hurt.. so bad. My sister, who was also my best friend, shockingly passed away the day after Christmas in San Diego.

I'll always be in mourning.
