In fact, I replaced someone in Senate who was probably one of Loudon’s heroes – Sen. Karl Mundt, who learned such mean-spirited accusations at the knee of Sen. Joseph McCarthy. Senator McCarthy, before he was hounded out of the U.S. Senate, was a world class champion at hurling false accusations against patriotic American citizens. In so doing, he would try to deliver political defeat to his enemies.
